Jedidiah felt his heartbeat in his throat as the tall, masked man stood over him. His breath was hot, and his teeth were next to his ear. A nick, and then he laughed. Jedidiah could do nothing but tremble, waiting for the moment to pass. He was completely defenseless, being interrupted on an errand for Sydney. The man had come up without warning, pinned him against the wall, and now was doing nothing but eyeing him up and down, as a predator eyes his prey. His eye's were blue. Cold, glacial blue, a bitter contrast to Jedidiah's own plain brown ones. Jedidiah stuttered, and this seemed to snap the man from his trance. Elijah ran into the forest, as Jedidiah's legs went weak, and he collapsed against the wall from stress. But why, pray tell, was his face a rosy shade of red, as he thought of what had happened? Nevermind all that. He had to get back to Sydney.
