Unpopular opinion:
Schnitzel with rice is actually a good combination. It's not a crime.
Yes, we eat it this way over here in Slovakia and no, we are not ashamed of it. Some people are, but those are the ones we try to avoid in conversations.
For those who are not familiar with this dish, it's normally served with potatoes (whatever the form is). Here they serve it this way in school cantines usually. It's a safe plan, you can't ruin anything with it, except foreigners' belief in your taste.
I ordered this once in Czech Republic and the waiter looked at me like I had ordered to murder someone. Would not recommend to do so in Austria either.
But it's not as much about me as it is about the food itself. What would all those schnitzels and piles of rise say? They just want to love each other and they could never cause harm to anyone. They may be polar opposites, but that's what ying and yang are all about, isn't it? Let them be!(in my stomach) #LoveIsLove
