Nancy Drew Games: queer headcanons

I came across a list of potential LGBT+ characters in the games and I have to admit that I was a tiny bit disappointed that the only ace character listed was a villain.  So, here are some of my aro/ace (and other queer) headcanons.

Ryan – aroace (all you need is dragons)

Renate – aroace (all you need is cake)

Mel – aroace spectrum (like Wednesday Addams)

Lupe – aroace

Donal – aroace

Jeff – aroace (or queer in some way)

Nigel – aroace

Mason – ace.  But not aro.  The reason I think Mason is ace and planning to adopt is because he asks his dates what their gender preferences are for kids, and the only way you can choose which gender your kids are is if you adopt.  (More queer autistic rep in media would be awesome.)

Yumi – I could see her being queer in some way.  Her grandma thinks she’s going through a “phase” and will return to tradition.  I think I’m leaning towards her being biromantic ace.  (Also childfree, no adoption either.  So no kids to pass on the tradition to of running the ryokan.)  Article I came across.

MBTI Typing Nancy Drew Characters - Jeff Akers

Hi, anon! SO SORRY it’s been a long time since I got this ask. I wasn’t able to answer it then because of stressful stuff but now I am free of that and I can finally get down to typing this character!

I agree with you! He seems to be a pretty straightforward ISTJ.

ISTJs lead with introverted sensing (Si), which makes them very organized and methodical people. With his extremely tight rules and regulations and the whole detailed system with the info stuff and Roman numerals, you can tell how strict he is with things like this. 

The auxiliary function is extroverted thinking (Te), which revolves around logic and efficiency. As you can see with the way he does things, he’s pretty logical and likes efficiency (even though no one other than him knows Roman numerals like that like bro come on it is outdated).

The third function is introverted feeling (Fi) which has a kind of gut instinct and a more moral connection. It’s a kind of warning system and it’s like, “Huh, maybe I shouldn’t do this” or “maybe I should help out.” And they stick pretty close to certain morals with this function. And I think we can see that with the fact that he has a doggo that he loves and he is like, “Yes, I keep him on a leash because those are the rules” (but like also because we know he loves his doggo). 

The last function is extroverted intuition, which is the weakest one. Basically, it means he’s not super creative. He’s good with systems and organization and rules and logic, but not when it comes to brainstorming. Since all the stuff at the ranger’s station is pretty old (they are using roman numerals to organize things like dude just change them to normal numbers) we can assume he’s not into new, more creative things.

Anyway, since we don’t have too much to go off of with him, I wasn’t able to do as much of an in depth analysis as I am with other characters, but this was fun! Thank you for asking, anon!
