This one sucks. As a "more to love" woman, his run/walk method made me believe that I am a runner. May he rest in peace. ❤️

Tomorrow I am planning on going on a walk. A long walk probably. I’m just going to lace up my shoes and walk and then if I decide to run then I’ll do that. Maybe I can convince my boyfriend to come with me.
Ideally I want to do intervals again. The best I got to do was 3 miles of running 4 minutes, walking 1 minute. I think I’ll try running 2 minutes, walking 1 minute. I want to work up to running 5 minutes, walking 1 minute. I don’t even think I could do then when I was running regularly.
Another thing, my heart rate has SHOT UP 😭 I used to be so obsessed with it but I don’t know what happened! I used to be around 70-74bpm and now I’m around 79-82. I hate that for me! My goal is sub 70. I hope I can get to that this time around. I know that with more consistency and a better diet that I will be able to.
Starting over with the Jeff Galloway training! I finally made it out on a run (or run/walk as is Jeff Galloway’s way!) My first outing after my half last weekend. It felt both good and hard. Like... it shouldn’t be this hard. Come on, I just did a half, I can do 20 minutes! Except that I was actually running during the running bits, not my usual ultra slow barely jogging jog. Plus I worked a full 8 hour day at work today, I just have to figure out how to get in a workout on days when I close. That involves waking up early... yuck. For now I am optimistic that I’ll be able to get myself in shape enough to complete the princess confidently. Hopefully! It definitely doesn’t help that I’m almost at my highest weight again... whoops, how embarrassing...
Me with Jeff Galloway!! My 2:07 half time was good enough for 25th out of 172 in my division. Mike says I need to stop complaining about the 3 minute potty stop but I don't think I can or want to stop. Overall pretty good, though, for running with a bit of altitude and coming through feeling really good. I ran 4 miles today and now it's time to go home. On to the next thing- a regatta in Duluth!
Day 1 of Jeff Galloway Half Marathon training done! I actually did better than I was expecting :)
I am absolutely wiped after work today. I was invited to do a few different things tonight, but I decided to stay home instead. I did make myself go for a run, so week 3 day 1 of Jeff Galloway it is! Still feeling good, but the anxiety is still very much there about my half next week. I’m going to keep obsessing about it until it’s done, so I apologize now for all my talk about it. Part of me wants to skip it, but most of me wants to try. I’m just scared it’s going to be terrible and I’ll either quit or want to quit the entire time. Ugh. I’m just ready for it to be over. Oh well. This is my weekend of fun! It’ll be nice to get my mind off the half for a couple days. I might be able to get a run in on Sunday before work, probably not tomorrow, though maybe tomorrow night. It wouldn’t hurt to take a rest day. And then Monday I don’t know if I’ll be able to get a real run in, but I’m planning on going to a show at the theater I used to work with a lot and it’s outdoor and involves a quarter mile trek down a big steep hill. Then there’s a million stairs / seats, so it’s a workout just being out there. I still could probably get a run in monday night. Then Tuesday we just have our work meeting so I can definitely do something before that. Lots of last minute training in my future!
Side note: I don’t know why my selfies have been looking so awkward lately. I swear my post run selfies used to be cuter, but who knows.
Day one of the Galloway half marathon training app. A very easy day to start off. I’m doing the “train for my first half” route even though I have done halves before. This is the first time following a real training plan. I’ve wanted to try the Galloway method for a long time but never really knew where or how to start, so this app is pretty sweet. It’s the Lolo one if you want to go looking for it.
Today is my day off and I’m feeling a bit bored and lonely. I feel better after my run, so that’s good. Now I’m snuggling in for a movie night, I’m watching Winchester. I had a free rental from redbox, so I had to use it! I hope everyone is having a good day and here’s to day one of the May Fitness Challenge!
W1D2 of training. I think the gps in this app has me going a LITTLE faster than my watch shows, but oh well. So the app has like 20 weeks to being trained for a half. I have my half next month... whoops! I just know I won’t be quite up to my full trained self for my half, but as long as I cross that finish line, I’ll be ok. Time to just work as hard as I can until then and hope and pray my body will let me get through it with a ton of walking. I’ve done it before quite a few times, I can do it again! .... right?
Tonight I’m cramp city, so that sucks. Hoping they’ll be a little better tomorrow, but probably not.
