Tiger King; more thoughts

A few things I've been seeing on social media that are problematic:

1. People aren't thinking for themselves and instead listening to the memes. The memes convey a message that portrays Joe as the "good guy" and Carole as the "bad guy" which ultimately leads to "if I had a lot of money I'd be doing the same thing as Joe; cuddling big cats" which is another reason why Tiger King failed at being an advocate for wildlife.

2. This isn't tied to animals but, every single time I see "Carole Baskin" I see "bitch" or "cunt" attached to it. While Joe, Doc antle & co. do not receive the same array of colorful adjectives. Which brings me to my point as to why people are so fixated on Carole and it's not just because she may or may not have killed her husband, it's down to misogyny.

i lived tiger king. but what is kinda messed up is that ppl are painting joe exotic to be a perfect lil angel. no, he wasn’t. he was constantly making threats to carole baskin, breeding cubs only for the benefit of profit, and put many animals in cages that weren’t fit to live to the fullest in (it was unintentional, but nonetheless), groomed straight men that just turned legal, gave them access to the drugs they were addicted to to become more addicted.

carole baskin definitely killed her husband, she was hypocritical in keeping the big cats in tigers, and she had worse conditions than joe, and she drained joe dry so he was forced to become more brutal with making money.

doc antle ran a sex cult, the women changed their names to seem more ‘exotic’, he took those women and made them sexy to get more business, and put those cubs that had outgrown the ‘cute’ stage into gas chambers to kill them.

jeff lowe set joe up to get in jail, he treated his wife like shit and wanted a nanny that was ‘good to look at’, told his wife to go back to the gym once the baby was born, was focused on money than creating a proper zoo.

everyone on that show are sick people, only looking for profit. joe had the right intentions in the beginning, but when u add business into trying to create a zoo, there will be animal abuse and bad conditions. everyone is twisted by the money aspect and the ideas of having the best of everything.

the ppl i only see as ‘innocent’ are jeff, who worked at joe’s zoo bc he genuinely loved those cats, the girl who escaped doc’s cult, who loved the cats too, and joe’s campaign manager, who said it was the worst job of his life but didn’t exactly act in all the shady stuff going on.

anyways, tiger king shows the zoe industry and how greed and seeking power will easily lead to animal abuse. don’t paint joe to be innocent and should be freed from jail, but he was definitely set up by jeff lowe.
