But that didn't stop Mae from leaving more than 500 messages on it while he was missing:

Some were them telling him about their day, others sobbing and begging him to come home. Here are some excerpts from those messages.

fun fact! before encountering each other, both blurr and mae thought they were unable and undeserving of love or the reciprocation of it

part of falling in love with each other was frightening, introducing the fear of possibly losing each other forever over rejection

blurr simply does not have these issues— heat does not bother him

but he always has cold energon/energon ice pops and clicks his fans on so they blow on mae and they wont faint/overheat

mae is super expressive and usually has a good read of a room— so whenever longarm is with them he usually mimics their expression when unsure of how to make it or which one to make

so him and mae are sometimes making the same face :]

when blurr goes missing mae goes through three stages

1. mae is reprimanded for threatening longarm while trying to gain information, and also keeping in contact with an agent against mission guidelines. magnus is found gravely injured and mae is accused by sentinel of interference due to the fact mae and him never saw eye to eye or got along well. mae is considered a suspect in both their conjunxes disappearance as well as the attack on sentinel. they are detained and mistreated by some due to rumors and their frame type. in this stage they are FURIOUS. the sight of longarm makes them seethe with rage— and they refuse to talk to sentinel or longarm— playing stubborn to prove a point even if their detainment lasts longer.

2. longarm is outed as a spy and captured. a shitty apology is given from the autobots that were dismissive of maes claims and accusatory of them. sentinel does not apologize formally. mae has to attend shockwaves sentencing. whichever form he takes his optics are always focused on them. when asked about blurr he refuses to comment— mae attempts to lunge at him and is placed in stasis cuffs for the rest of the trial for their own safety as well as shockwaves. mae is paid an undisclosed amount of money in apology for their mistreatment/mishandling of blurrs disappearance. most of that money goes to further the efforts to search for him. they get leave from work, rarely leave their habsuite and grow a bit paranoid. theyre more tired and irritable, their paint job is dull and damaged and they barely sleep

3. the search for blurr is called off and he is legally declared deceased. mae is unable to clear his office alone and requires help from rodimus and mirage. throughout all this time mae has been leaving messages on blurrs busted comm link. they talk to him as if hes still alive. rest of the settlement money goes to a funerary ceremony for him. mae paints their accents and servos in his colors as a sign of respect and mourning. they are inconsolable and hysterical during the ceremony— the coffin is empty. they dont let mae chose the photo they use— its his id photo. mae goes to trypticon to attempt to question shockwave. he toys with them and mae receives burns from the cell on their arms and face after attempting to attack him— they are banned from visiting trypticon. shockwave praises their behavior and states he “hopes they visit again soon..” as he “enjoys” their visits. mae barely leaves the habsuite, they refuse to fuel unless they continue to search for blurr, begging with whatever money they have left. their request is denied and they rot in their habsuite, refusing to fuel until their request is granted. they are in terrible shape, mentally and physically— they can barely stand without getting dizzy. sleep is granted when they faint, and they begin experiencing visual and auditory hallucinations and nightmares when they sleep. they blame themselves for letting blurr go on the mission, refuse to turn the habsuite lights off, and refuse to alter anything blurr touched before he left. they ignore calls from friends. a wellness check is attempted due to a concerned neighbor— kup ends up breaking down their door and finds them on the floor. he forcibly takes them to medbay and they scream and kick with whatever energy they have left— refusing treatment because in their head (what if blurr comes back and theyre not home? if they refuel theyll never continue the search. shockwave isnt actually in prison and is disguised and out there.) mae is brought to medbay and force fed via infusion. they tell kup they hate him while being dragged out of their habsuite. they dont mean it. he knows that. after time mae is physically stable again, and their friends make sure theyre never alone for too long, and gradually help them back to themselves a bit. they are quiet and withdrawn from others, they attend work, go home, eat and talk to blurr and go to sleep. they begin to gradually regain normalcy with support from others like kup,rodimus,mirage, jazz and the twins and other friends.
