MOUNTAIN FOG LEMONADE RECIPE
A lot of this is "to taste" so you'll just have to adjust ratios and amounts based on what you like and how much of it you want. INGREDIENTS: - Lemons or Lemon Juice - Lime juice (you don't need very many so juice by itself is fine) - Cane sugar - Fresh rosemary stalks - Mint leaves - Mint syrup (optional) - Water
Make Rosemary simple syrup the day before making lemonade - Take rosemary stalks and pick off the leaves. - Throw rosemary into a bowl of cane sugar - Pour boiling water into sugar (1:1 ratio of sugar to water) - Steep for at least 2 hours, I did it for 4 - Strain leaves out. Yay. Syrup.
Mix the following to taste to make a basic lemonade - Lemon juice - Cane sugar (use less if you want a lot of rosemary syrup) - Water - I cannot give you ratios for this, you must follow your heart
Once basic lemonade is complete, add the following to taste: - Rosemary simple syrup - Lime juice (only a little to round out the flavor and cut the sweetness) - Clap mint leaf in your hand to activate MINT POWERS. Push to bottom of drink. Stir. - It's hard to get flavor out of mint leaves quickly so go ahead and add a squirt of mint syrup. I won't tell nobody. ;) - Garnish with additional mint leaf or lime wedge
I like a lemonade on the sour side, so adding the made-of-sugar rosemary syrup usually rebalances things to sweet and then the lime rounds out the sweetness with an extra mojito kick.
