lets skip the introductions
as much as taemin wished he could be back in the warmth of the seoul institute, he was somewhat glad to get away. even if it meant freezing his ass off in the process. because a. it was rather calming being by himself and b. everyone was on edge given that another uprising seemed to be looming, something the shadowhunters could not afford to happen. not when they were still partially rebuilding after the mess Valentine Morgenstern had caused.
his boots echo against the damp concrete below, hands shoved into the pockets of his leather jacket thats barely keeping him warm. he’d been sent on a new mission (it felt like it’d been a lifetime since he’d last been sent on one) details, oddly kept to a minimum, but told that it was urgent and they couldn’t spare anyone else to go along with him. not that he minded at all.
the ally way grows darker the further he ventures, the rune which helps him to see better in the darkness already activated incase of an ambush or worse incase he walking into a trap. figures coming into focus as he reaches towards a dead end -- it all seemed way to shady to be a real mission, thought that the higher-ups had stitched him up (which of course they haven’t).
he can hear the few jeers that are clearly thrown his way from the small group standing round something. rolling his eyes a little because yes he could hear them, no matter how quietly they whispered. “anyone wanna fill me in? no? great, cant wait to work with you” he remarks, coming to the realisation he was probably the only shadowhunter there among downworlders - no. more specifically werewolves.
the realisation only setting in when he spots an all too familiar face that causes him to swear under his breath. “shit”.
