Wanted to push this out tonight for all the different timezone enjoyers.
Story section:
Former researcher of Lobotomy Corporation, Thrones. Now, senior advisor onboard the Dream Tram. Prefers to use less words in communication. The only things that piques her interests are researching Abnormalities, critiquing art and training her coworkers for a better performance.
[WARNING]: This Sinner is prone to using extreme violence to settle disagreements.
[NOTICE]: Records of this Sinner's past are strictly confidential, dear Manager.
Management notes:
I wanted to write more, but I was denied at every turn. She often excercises her autonomy to shut others up. It took an hour just to write this description because it keeps getting deleted. :(
She sometimes lights a matchstick in her mouth just like the Scorched Girl's ego gift, however, she doesn't smoke, as she claims it's not good for children to exposed to them. Should any of her coworkers say anything disagreeable, she will inflict a most certainly fatal bash to their body. It is undoubtably painful to revive them each time, but she will continue to do so until the Sinners reflect upon themselves.
Her hobby is writing logs of Abnormalities encounters.
This is an updated post. I couldn't stand how the previous version looked. He looks like a hobo. It pissed me off. So I redrew it. Story is also updated because I wasn't thinking well last time.
Story section:
Sinner #2 of the Dream Tram, Edward Hyde. Originally, Limbus Company sought to recruit doctor Henry Jekyll, but an unfortunate accident had occurred, resulting in the invitation of Hyde in his stead. Despite lacking any qualifications that Limbus Company seeks, he is enthusiastic in assisting with combat and improving quality of life for everyone on the tram.
Please note, dear Manager, that this Sinner is extremely irresponsible and may incite a strike against the company should he ever feel like it.
"Doctorate, nil. Work experience, nil. Social acclimation, nil. He was found barely holding onto a thread of life in Dr Jekyll's chamber. Thing was fortified with P Corp's singularity. In his grip, an empty bottle with traces of poison.
The last we heard from Dr Jekyll was an admission of guilt, that he is on the verge of breaking a Taboo of the City. I can only assume, that he administered poison to this person in an attempt to destroy the Taboo before the Head came to erase it. If I'm right, we have secured quite a troublesome mess on our hand..." — Report from the guide.
Management's notes:
I've made other versions for comparison. They're quite cute. While I was fixing his colour scheme, my headmates said his white hair makes him look like Nagito and I CRY. This is bullying. Whatever. The brown hair still looks too much like Jekyll so I don't regret making his hair white. It makes him resemble Faust more.
His interests are sampling bakery goods, indulging in sweet treats and taking a leisurely walk. He is proficient in singlestick, using a cane as his weapon. The abnormalities he resonates with are Dimensional Oxidation Variant, 1.76 MHz, Alleyway Watchdog, Will You Play? and Alriune. Even when engaging in combat, he looks to be having as much fun as he does playing with children.
Genuinely upset that dark skinned characters in video games are ALWAYS universally masculine. It’s such a nasty bias based on absolute nothing because HAVE THEY SEEN REAL DARK SKIN PEOPLE? Their skin is radiant like who could associate it with roughness and masculinity…
And the dark skinned characters who aren’t masculine are either sexy or childishly cute and energetic like STOP 🛑.
I should take some time to document this, but when I was a teenager, I refused to go to school because my mental health was deteriorating. It was a decision I had to make myself. Nobody took my side. Time and time again I’m forced to prioritise my own health over pleasing these people. But they still tried to put me back to school, into that oppressive societal prison where I’m forced over and over again to do unrewarded labour. Because everything in this world is withheld by that system of education.
They guilt tripped me, that I was a child who had everything, and all I needed to do was be normal and just go to school. It’s that simple to them. They refused to see anything that wasn’t normal. So I wasn’t really there in their eyes. And when I refused and threw their efforts in the fire, my dad tried to place me in an internship at a fashion company to make use of my art work. I said no already, but it meant nothing.
I keep hearing even now, “you can draw so well, so why aren’t you putting it to use and make (me) money?” It’s not your hands nor synapses that are labouring to create these art, so why don’t you shut up and leave me be? Putting children to work is human trafficking too, you know?… alas, it’s not like anyone heard me. My family is steeped in that belief that children need to give back to their parents for all that we’ve been given. I would never have wanted to be given anything at all, if you’re just going to threaten to take it away from me to force me into labour.
Alas, I’m the mad one for noticing all of this injustice. I’m still only one amongst a sea of people that are actively putting up a strike against work. I’m still only going to be a minority. I don’t want to get washed away by the sea of people. I just want to be here right now.
Re: The topic of how Dream Tram’s IDs all directly parallels Limbus Company Bus.
I’ve just been thinking about how Huin could possibly become Callisto in another universe since Hong Lu was. He had his elder’s entertainment to motivate him, but what would motivate Huin?
Maybe, Huin saw his art as some kind of favour for the dead people by mutilating them? His whole theme is about mourning, but also duality of choosing violence when his nature is peaceful. So for the Ring’s standard, he’s an outcast because he’s too sympathetic with the corpses, hence why he started an art movement called Corporism, an art to honour dead bodies. No other meaning.
Like with other art movements in the Ring, there is a manner of expression being prioritised here, like dotting, wild brush strokes, cubical shapes and the artist’s raw feelings. But Corporism simply makes art out of the dead bodies. Imagine making art just to honour the paint and the paper you draw on instead of like.. to say anything deeper. That’s why they laughed at him, because it’s so different from the way they grade art in The Ring. If it could be graded, it became almost objective. Squandering the joy of creating art into merely submitting works that will save your life this week. That’s no way to live.
Now here’s the other fun thing that came from this thought experiment. Hyde parallels Faust, so in this universe he is fed to Fascia. In character for Jekyll? Yes. He wanted to throw away his flesh body like a sure fire way to get rid of himself. In doing so, he became one of many Hyde IDs that gave into impulses to murder. And the fact that Albina genuinely wants to have friends? That’s Hyde’s real desires speaking.
But wait there’s more. We have Lamp Gregor, which is paralleled by Fajie. This one is tough, because Fajie has little reasons to resonate with Big Bird besides their shared love for patrolling the night. She doesn’t really protect people, or feel the need to be misguided about it. Diffraction is still on the table though. Oh wait. It’s through combining both that I see a similarity. Something invisible is forcing them to patrol, a fear of losing more people. Because Diffraction forces you to scour the facilities when it breaches, before any employees are killed. That’s what motivates these three to resonate with Lamp.
Final notes, I really enjoy this writing process. In setting up a kind of hard rule for myself, I found it fun to think within the game’s framework and retell it with my own characters.
