OKAY so I selected a section (per the stars!) and I went for this one from the latest chapter (Chapter Four), after Poe tells Rey they can’t be together:
“What if I don’t care?” Poe smiled at her adamance, but Rey shook her head. “Seriously! Why the fuck would I care? I’m not really a witch, no matter what your stupid prophecy says; at least I haven’t known about it for my entire life up to this point, so why should I let this random thing decide what I can and can’t do now?”
“Because,” Poe’s voice rises from his barely restrained passion, from the instinct - a man’s instinct, not a monster’s - to hold her to him and demonstrate his love most ardently, “Because if I harmed you, I could never live with myself.” Rey’s eyes flashed, but Poe continued, clasping her hands tightly in his. “Do you think it was pleasant to find you, cold and collapsed this afternoon? Do you think I rejoiced at the thought of you at the mercy of one of my kind? A wicked one, to be sure, but still - until you know more about your power, I would be distinctly at an advantage over you physically, and if I did anything to hurt you, I - I-” Poe struggled to continue but cut himself off, trembling at the very thought of it.
“So, what are you saying?” Rey’s jaw was set stubbornly, her eyes still flashing dangerously, and Poe reached out slowly to tuck a piece of her hair behind her ear. “We have to just put our feelings aside and try to be friends?”
“Yes.” Poe hated himself for it, but, “Yes, that is precisely what I am saying. I know I cannot stay away from you - unless you told me to - and I know I cannot trust myself with anything more, not unless we risk you…” He licked his bottom lip, almost losing his resolve when he saw how hungrily Rey’s eyes tracked the movement. “Turning. Or worse.”
“Alright.” Rey had yet to drop his other hand, and Poe took comfort in that fact. “So, we stay friends?”
“You could help me do my research,” Poe said softly, playing with the smooth skin of her palms.
So, I wanted to keep Rey/Poe separate, but not for some constructed reason like ‘it’s forbidden’ (they’ll definitely run into problems later over it, but there’s no technical law in place forbidding it). Instead, I wanted Poe to express a major concern I have with powerful being/mortal pairings - Poe is much stronger than Rey, and more versed in his world, and more in control of their current situation (i.e. he understands the stakes better). It’s why I had him specifically say that he can’t be with her until she understands her power more.
It’s not that he doesn’t want to be with her - he very much does - but it’s that he feels uncomfortable with their current imbalance of paper. Their attraction is undeniable, after all, but the one who is supposedly ‘insatiable’ due to his nature expresses a great deal of self-control for the benefit of his would-be partner, as well as himself. Also, it’s not just about the imbalance of power in terms of understanding this separate/supernatural world - he wants Rey to be a physical match for him (as she will be when she assumes control of her incredible powers, which we’ve only seen hints of) because he’s uncomfortable with the idea that he might easily overpower her, and she wouldn’t be able to fight him off or feel comfortable saying no. Basically, I wrote this scene with Poe very much wary of any future situation where he could possibly make Rey feel like she couldn’t say no to him (romantically, or in a sexual situation, or even any other possible scenario). He wants her to be able to say no, to feel like she can say no, with no threat to her personal safety/comfort.( I hope that makes sense).
Anyway, I have zero intention of keeping them apart for long - much like Rey in the canon universe, Witch!Rey will be able to control her powers pretty quickly/will be a fast study - and she and Poe are going to be doing a lot of research together, growing closer, and Rey growing more aware of the supernatural and her own powers, at Poe’s very supportive side - and they won’t be able to keep their hands off of each other for long ;)

Again, apologies for the lateness of this, but I hope you’ll see why this was taking a bit of time. (And aren’t disappointed it’s not a fic).
I really liked your prompts, “What happened to her?” or ”i don’t want your apologies, i want my [relation] back!” and the complexity and angst implied really demanded more than just a simple photo manipulation or photo set.
Doing this style of photo manipulation combined with some illustrating, is an entirely new thing for me, so thanks for helping me stretch a bit creatively.
Now… I think I’d mentioned this was going to be P1 and P2, but slight change of plans to prevent the posts from being 20 feet long I’ve split this into 3 parts. Oh and it also better serves the almighty Angst. And Cliffhangers. Gotta have a cliffhanger.

what fandoms have you wanted to write fic for but never got the chance/didn’t for whatever reason?
ooh, great question!
I have really been wishing I could write something for good behavior with letty/javier, but inspiration hasn’t quite struck. there is a prompt ask in my inbox for it, so maybe once I get desperate enough I’ll tackle it :P
I also really wish I could write something for dark matter’s two/three because I love them a ton, love their dynamic, but again, inspiration has never quite hit right. fic is a magic black box and I’m not sure how the bug hits you, but when it does, you know!
eta: I just remembered I have written one 3-sentence fic for each of these, but that’s about the extent of what I’ve done.
