Fourth and final assignment for advanced drawing was to design a tattoo bodysuit.

I went with a patchwork design to include some of the many series, films, and other media that have inspired me creatively. And the sleeves are of my own characters, of course.

This one was a lot of fun and would absolutely be the basis should I ever decide to be tattooed to this extent.

Third drawing assignment, a building cross-section.

I decided to bring out the toys and try designing a dollhouse for them. I tried to put little details that would tell you whose room was whose even if they aren’t in it.

I quite enjoyed this one 😊

Breaking News: Lewis can change the shape of his eyebrows.

I had this idea late last year and it wouldn't go away.

This is my first comic in Procreate so it was a slight learning curve. Also, I didn't learn from last time and made the panels even bigger at 2800px squared.

And both Jerry and Lewis are a bit inconsistent in style throughout, but a big reason I made this was to develop their designs a bit so it's expected.

I'm so glad it's finally done. I hope to keep developing my comic and storytelling skills.

Say hi to Jerry, the newest addition to the toy room.

Jerry is a young boy who could be seen as a little brother to Lewis. He, too, is a clown, possibly leaning more towards an Auguste type based on appearance, but he’s not grown into any one role too much, thus his little amount of makeup. Unlike Lewis, Jerry is quite ambitious and not afraid to speak his mind, as many children are. He’s also very energetic, outgoing, and loves to make people laugh.

I’ve been thinking about giving Lewis a little buddy for a while and I’ve been working on this design as well, it was mostly just the colors giving me a difficult time. I think they worked out pretty well, though I still feel like I might adjust some things along the way. Then again, I said the same thing about Lewis and he’s been untouched since conception.

I also was having an issue with what clown type he would be since I didn’t think I should have two whiteface clowns, so I mostly settled on the idea that he wants to be his own kind of clown to be more in line with how kids think.

I had also debated on naming him Joey (child clowns are sometimes called “Junior Joeys” and yes, I did lots of research this time, too) but I decided Jerry would fit better with Lewis because I had been inspired in the first place to create a clown puppet when I saw Jerry Lewis in “The Errand Boy” with a clown hand puppet called Bobo. It’s the cutest scene in the world, please go watch it.

I love my babies.

I think I’ve found a style that works for me. I like this process of lining, shading, and I don’t completely hate the detailed shading.
