i’ve just watch episode 2x15 of New Girl and I want to scream into a pillow because of the last 60 seconds GAHGHSAGAHGAHGGAAAAAAAAAAAH
I don't watch many series, I try to be very intentional with my time, kids and work take most of it. But man... "New Girl" was a hilarious show to watch, just finished all seasons and it will take me about a year to choose something else that makes me laugh as much as this one did. #newgirl #jessicaday #sketch https://www.instagram.com/p/CDBwOIIjSGM/?igshid=if1xkostuphe

I am Jessica Day
Jessica Day: A Feminist Within Herself
The show New Girl is based on the life of Jessica Day. She recently got done being in a six year relationship, and now has had to find a new place to live. She ends up moving in with three men. Already, there’s a larger male presence than female. Although, Jessica’s personality definitely shines above it all. Jessica Day doesn’t let her femininity disappear within this series, just because she’s living with all men. She wears lots of dresses, has many purses, and loves glitter. All of these things make her who she is, but it doesn’t deteriorate her true feminist self. All of these things can be looked at as a stereotypical woman, but is it really stereotypical if she’s just being herself?
Feminism isn’t about diminishing the characteristics that make up a “stereotypical woman” in people’s minds. It’s about women being able to be whoever they want to be, and feeling good while doing so. It’s about women supporting other women, and standing up for yourself as well as others. You can be a feminist but still fit in the “social norm” way of being a woman. People can take this as not being a feminist because they’re not playing into the role of being “different”, but this is only making sexism worse as you’re telling someone how to be. She makes a remark in one of the episodes that yeah she likes purses, but that doesn’t make her any less of a feminist. She might not be going against the ideal way of being a female, but she does this in a way where she’s unapologetic. She stands up for herself and doesn’t let anyone tell her something she doesn’t want to hear. Jessica Day truly is a remarkable role model for young women. Of course she makes mistakes, but in the end she’s herself. She’s relatable, weird, and definitely not everything goes her way. She doesn’t let anyone tear her down for being who she wants to be. Jessica brings this new energy into the household, and also reflects who she is on the men too. She makes them realize that being a man doesn’t have to mean keeping your feelings and emotions inside. Everyone has them, and no one should be looked down upon for showing them. All in all, Jessica might fit into this image of a “girly girl”, but this doesn’t mean she’s any less of a feminist. She fights for what she believes in, and she fights for who she is...a woman.
So I recently started watching New Girl and I just saw the episode where Nick and Jess kiss for the first time...
How the FUCK is it possible that a kiss in a sitcom is one of the hottest scenes I've seen in my life???
