Jester, in general, is an arrogant and controlling gentleman. He's shown to be cunning and manipulative, having quiet obvious sadistic tendencies. He's very likely to show a different façade to lower someone's defenses before showing his true nature.
He's quite playful in his cruelty, and he's naturally a dominant figure; that adds up because he is the ringleader of the entire circus after all.
He can never not be in control. He has to always be the one to call the shots, obviously used to making the circus decisions. It's in his nature.
Jester's learned to be a good leader somewhat, excluding the fact that he never rarely takes other's opinions into account. He can stay calm through all situations, no matter the circumstance.
Since Jester is a misanthropist, he hates all humans. So naturally, he hates you at first sight. But all hope is not lost yet, because he sees the affection Pierrot holds for you, and Harlequin's need to take you from the red clown.
He won't admit it, but Jester's feeling a little curious. He has to find out what's so special about this little human that has his colleagues fighting even more so than usual.
Once Jester fixates on you, you're no longer just a person to him. You're also his favourite audience member, his favourite co-star. He'll somehow weave you into everything he does, whether you like it or not.
He loves to give you gifts. Many. But they aren't always grand, luxurious treasures. Sometimes it's things you've lost and never 'found' again. Others are little trinkets he's seen you look at or pick up, and he buys them for you to give it to you later. It's romantic in intention, but occasionally it makes you wonder just how much he watches you.
Jester rarely calls you by your given name. Even before the two of you became close. But what once was a sneered 'human' or 'stray' gradually became more sweeter, loving even. 'Doll', 'darling', and 'my dear', are currently some of his favourites. But when he's feeling particularly affectionate with you, a quiet 'sweetheart' or 'honey' might spill out.
He's also quite knowledgeable, and also with the fact that the circus moves around often to different places all over, he's picked up on a few languages. It rarely happens, but it still is really charming when he calls you a pet-name in another language with a small grin on his lips just to see how you react to it. If he likes your reaction enough, he might use that nickname more often.
Physical affections comes a while after he warms up to you. He is a gentleman, but he's standoffish, so his first response wouldn't have always been to hold your much smaller hand or kiss your cheek. He does it now though, he's grown to adore it. Especially your reactions to his affection. Often he likes to tease you by leaning too close, just to see that rosy hue on your cheeks. He loves pulling reactions out of you, and he's very good at it.
He loves to hug you from behind, it soothes him when he can smell your hair, and he just loves the way his chin sits comfortably on your shoulder. He also likes it for the reason he gets very easy access to the smooth skin of your neck, because his next favourite thing to do is give you neck kisses. And maybe a few nips here and there.
But, even though Jester loves to give you affection, he doesn't like smothering you with it. And he does not like being touched in return either. Unless he says otherwise, it's wise not to try.
Jester is a very possessive man. And he has a big ego. What's his, remains his, and no one can take that away from him. No one.
When he's jealous, he won't ever admit it. He's also quite good at hiding it since he likes to disguise it as humour. He makes jokes with subtle threats or warning, or converse with mocking undertones. It would sound quite funny at first, until you realise every punchline is aimed at the person he wants gone.
Jester is also the type of guy to tease you about the victim individual who hit on you later on, especially when you're already annoyed with him, just to annoy you further.
Jester has an impeccable memory. Every word you've said, every reaction and every interaction. He'll store it all, in case he ever has to bring it up when needed. It's often hard to win arguments with him for this reason.
I doubt Jester would ever confess to you out loud. In his mind, if you've stayed this long and haven't run from him, then naturally you're already his. To him, it's like a silent confession. If you tell him you love him, he often has a snarky reply, but in the rare moments when he's feeling soft, he might just say it back.
𝕽𝖊𝖉 𝕱𝖑𝖆𝖌𝖘:
Jester doesn't know much the difference between obsession and love. To him, obsession is love. The idea of someone thinking about him constantly, needing him, being unable to live without him, that's romantic in his eyes. So he may encourage excessive dependency.
He also isn't interested in temporary connections and he absolute does not do casual attachments. Once he fixates on someone, they slowly become the center of his attention and he wants to sink into every corner of their life until leaving him feels impossible. Over time, it may feel suffocating. And if he senses you trying to slip away, watch out because that playful clown act might start to feel a lot less harmless.
If he were cruel all the time, he'd be easier to leave. But he does care, in his own twisted way. The only thing is his affection is confusing enough to blur the thin line between devotion and control.
Jester is also extremely observant and he will pick up on every little thing. Sometimes it is easy for him to exploit or manipulate something he knows about you to get his own way, and when he does it, it's often without really thinking of it. After all, being a trickster is his craft.
He's very coercive and cunning, and he excels in mind control. It's hard not to be persuaded by his charm, and you may never realise how tightly you've been wrapped around his finger. Until perhaps it's too late. He'll never let you go.
So overall, he's manipulative, controlling, possessive, and quite obsessive. And the worst part is he never makes it quite obvious just how bad it is.

Jester is experienced when it comes to sex, he's had his fair share of partners in the past. But he isn't horny 24/7, so don't expect to be doing it every time you two see each other. That is unless he's in his rut, that's a whole different thing altogether.
