Roots are important in life. They are what ground us and hold us in place. When you go outside today, look at the bare trees and bushes. Their strong roots hold them in the ground as the winds blow. As nature reminds us of the importance of roots, God is asking you to plant yourself in your life. Root your life in faith, in knowing that you are a perfect being, part of a great plan, and completely supported by Our Father.

New Life Daily Declaration — Pressing Toward Perfection Pastor Jiang Yongliu
"Therefore, leaving the elementary teachings about Christ, let us press on to perfection, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works, faith toward God, instruction about baptisms, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment." (Hebrews 6:1-2)
Paul tells those who are in Christ to completely abandon the elementary stages of faith and strive toward greater perfection and maturity. We should not remain in the basic knowledge we had when we first came to know Christ. For example, repentance from sin is no longer necessary, as we have accepted Christ as our life, left our identity as sinners behind, and been cleansed by the precious blood of Jesus Christ. We are now called righteous, so we should not be entangled in issues of sin.
We should also move beyond teachings about trusting God, for we have progressed from merely trusting God to being united with Christ, becoming one spirit with Him, and living out Christ’s life. Likewise, we should leave behind elementary teachings and experiences about water baptism, the baptism of the Holy Spirit, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment. Baptism is complete—we have experienced water and Spirit baptism, and we understand the mystery of laying on hands to impart spiritual gifts and heal the sick. We also know the mystery of the resurrection: we have been raised with Christ and received new life, which has already happened, and the final resurrection will occur when Jesus Christ returns. As for eternal judgment, it has been completed for us—Jesus Christ bore the judgment for our sins and died on the cross in our place.
Furthermore, practices such as observing Jewish festivals, wearing sackcloth and ashes, or engaging in “heavenly courtroom” rituals are unprofitable and worthless. These man-made practices, which regress to Old Testament ways, are contrary to Christ. Under such corrupt and ignorant teachings, people cannot know Christ and obscure the truth of His redemption.
Many foundations built by human effort fail to help people know Christ or grow in Him. They nullify God’s grace with human piety, causing people to labor in vain and ultimately miss God’s grace and blessings.
"According to the grace of God given to me, like a skilled master builder, I laid a foundation, and someone else is building upon it. Let each one take care how he builds upon it. For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ." (1 Corinthians 3:10-11)
Paul’s ministry was to preach Christ, lead people to know Him, and help them grow in Him. We are to do the same. Each of us is built on the foundation of Christ, continually knowing Him, growing in Him, imitating Him, and living out His life.
We must understand how to build our lives in the life of Christ, striving to grow until we reach the full measure of Christ’s stature, filled with the Holy Spirit and truth, so that our every action reflects the risen Christ. We were created in Christ’s image and destined to live out His perfect life, becoming witnesses of His resurrection.
We are Christ’s masterpiece, inscribed with truth and power, radiating the glory of His life. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!

193. Be a beacon and listen
The true disciple is in the middle of the world as a lighthouse that attracts to conversion. He is also the one who listens to the human heart. He helps the person to tell himself and share his sufferings. It helps him to find his answers.
It’s necessary, however, that the listener refrain from elaborating on his own difficult experiences so as not to block the opening or the passage that is created in the one who shares his suffering.
Let’s become aware of what others live. Let’s be attentive and sensitive to the difficulties he has.
However, transient difficulties are nothing compared to the life that God offers us. God shares us infinitely more than anything we can hope for. The grace of God is overflowing when, despite suffering, we cling to him and make him known.
May the mission continue, as long as people do not know Jesus. Let’s continue his works.
