my god he's gorgeous
I just saw a post about homecoming, and I agree! why did they treat hiccup like that?! I was so confused!
I will be VERY VERY honest. I think Hiccup has been treated so poorly since HTTYD3 but Homecoming was the tip for me...
Is like this domino effect and it all started in THW: Not only do they gaslight him so bad about making him leave Toothless like he was keeping him in a cage and that he treated him badly (no he didn't) but once he's Chief, he constantly makes poor decisions (I blame the writers) and they all keep FAILING and it feels just SO OOC for him. He suddenly thinks it's ok to overpopulate Berk with NO regard of anyone's safety when we have seen that he's never incompetent like that. He disregards everyone else's concerns. Gobber keeps pressuring him to marry as if THAT would solve anything and as if Astrid wasn't already helping out. VALKA HERSELF thinks he's doing a poor job. Like I cannot it's all so so dumb. None of the problems they address make sense and Hiccup being treated like he doesn't know what he's doing is so frustrating. AND them all accepting it anyways feels so jarring to me... Like none of the choices Hiccup makes in the movie lead to something good and they all complain about it but in the next breath they're all ok with them: Leaving Berk, pressuring him to let go of Toothless, then immediately BLAMING him for letting him "free", then going after Grimmel, then going to the Hidden World, and then letting all their dragons be free for some reason. It's all so disjointed the more you think about it. Everyone acts like an idiot and Hiccup lets himself be influenced not only by his friends and family but by GRIMMEL HIMSELF... Hiccup feels like he loses all his conviction and agency in THW. Is it Hiccup's goal to make sure Dragons are remembered or did he actively make the whole world forget about dragons??? (they only live on Berk so it makes no sense how the REST of the world will forget dragons) also WHY IS THAT his goal if he wanted to eventually have humanity understand and accept dragons? so why forget them?? HOW is that going to help dragons be accepted Hiccup?? And WHY DO YOUR OWN CHILDREN FEAR DRAGONS?!
And I dont know WHAT happened in those 10 years, but in Homecoming.... did they all have collective amnesia or something?? cause talking rn about Homecoming, it all feels just so WEIRD. Like they talk about it here in this great post, the whole ass village is making HICCUP FEEL BAD for wanting to tell the story like it actually happened. And FOR WHAT?! for dumb gags where Hiccup is the joke?
The questions just keep pouring in.... WHY did they pretend it wasn't HICCUP AND HICCUP ALONE that CHANGED THE WORLD???????? Why do they treat Hiccup like he's still the loser that he used to be for gags??? Why is HE the butt of the joke and not treated as the HERO HE IS? Why are they all suddenly trampling over him?? INCLUDING ASTRID AND GOBBER?! Why bring Hiccup down to elevate Stoick??? It's only been 10 years why do they pretend that Dragons not been an integral part of their society for 6 years? ALSO WHERE IS VALKA!?! DID SHE BAIL ON BERK CAUSE SHE REALIZED THE DREAM OF PEACE WITH DRAGONS THAT HICCUP PROMISED HER WAS FADED AWAY AND SHE WENT TO LIVE WITH DRAGONS AGAIN!?!? CAUSE THAT'S WHAT I WOULD DO AFTER THE STUPID ASS DECISION TO SEND THEM AWAY FOR NO REASON!
LMFAoo I'm just so baffled at everything single decision that cause this domino effect of stupidity since the third movie... what were they even trying to say with this short??? It feels like Hiccup's story was forgotten and over with and with no dragons around anymore it feels like all his accomplishments REALLY were for nothing. They all forget about dragons and his own children have no idea what actually happened... It's beyond depressing...

Opheliac - The Deluxe Edition
Courtney Love's "anarchy violinist" Emilie Autumn returns to the digital and physical shelves with her European smash Opheliac. Updated and expanded for North American release as Opheliac-The Deluxe Edition, this collection features six additional songs and lots of video never before available on these fair shores -- over 2 hours of goth-tastic pleasure. And this time 'round Emilie's keeping the spotlight all the herself. With appearances on Leno and Letterman already under her corset, glossy magazine covers, and guest spots on the albums by artist as varied as Otep, Billy Corgan, Courtney Love, and TV's Metalocalypse, Autumn's devilishly dark lyrics, metal shredding violin solos, and industrial-strength voice reinvent "gothic" for the masses, and goths have never had so much fun.
Visually and sonicly compelling, Autumn was chosen by Interview Magazine as one of the "14 Artists to Watch." The Lost Angeles-born starlet's theatrical stage show is a sexy circus of glam-rock burlesque, backed by her evocatively-clad girl the Bloody Crumpets. Written in the style she calls "Victoriandustrial", Opheliac... is a magnificent musical miasma reflecting Autumn's life, a child-prodigy's classical training and performances in the concert halls of the world, a passion for industrial and metal, and of course all thing Vaudeville! Bravely and humorously addressing subject matter ranging from depression with the harpsichord-driven "Opheliac" to self-mutilation ("Liar"), sexual abuse ("Gothic Lolita"), suicide ("The Art of Suicide"), and Autumn's real-life experience as a psych ward inmate ("Thank God I'm Pretty"), Opheliac... is truly a reflection of all of us!
The results are in: with Vaudevillian appeal, Autumn's signature electric violin, hearbreakingly lush orchestrations, hard-core beats, and intense lyricism, Opheliac... is the musical calling card for the blue-black set! Add a fully web and traditional media campaign to the mix with digital and physical visibility and you've the finest harpsichord-heavy romp through soundscapes at midnight!
