Host Family

A couple weeks ago I got an email from my host sister and we’ve been emailing back and forth! I’ll have a host mom, dad, 12 year old brother and 16 year old sister. I’m glad that my host sister is around the same age as me. She goes to the same school so we can go to school together. They sound so nice and I’m super excited to meet them in just over 5 weeks!

Host School

I’ve found out my host school! I’m going to Fukuchiyama Seibi High School in Fukuchiyama, Kyoto. Its a co-ed school and it was founded almost 150 years ago. Fukuchiyama is a pretty small city, but only 1-2 hours from Kyoto, Osaka and Kobe by train. Hopefully I’ll get my host family soon :)

Interview

Hi guys.

I had an interview with one of AIIU’s staff, Kylie, last week. I think it went pretty well. She went through the program rules, asked me questions in English, and then asked me questions in Japanese

I also got sent a bunch of documents that I have to do like my visa application. I can’t believe it’s 6 months away! I’m so excited

Hi guys.

My name is Renee and I’m a 17 year old student in Australia. I applied a few weeks ago for a 10 month student exchange program to Japan through AIIU. I’ll have graduated by the time I go.

I’ve just found out I’ve got a partial scholarship from AIIU! This means I only have to keep getting the same hours at work during the holidays as during school (but I’ll probably get more anyway) to pay for the rest
