honestly, I'm so hype for more Avatar content set PRE-Four Nations. It's so interesting how locations we've seen in atla and lok actually have ancient lore.
Like Jharana. Avatar Sonam's temple was located in the same place as Republic City, just 5000 years before.
This location was spiritual for the Air Nomads for hundreds of years, following Yangchen's era. It marked the place where Yangchen met the spirit General Old Iron.
This spirit used to live there with Lady Tienhai, long before Avatar Sonam's time, going all the way back to Wan's era and before.
Then, Yangchen based a yearly festival for the Air Nomads around that location
Then the place was part of the Earth Kingdom and colonized by the Fire Nation. After the war it was industrialized and then turned into a "city for all nations".
It's really interesting that Republic City was built on land sacred to the Air Nomads, and with a spiritual history going back centuries.
