not to mention that katara having no role in the creation of republic city is just blatantly wrong, as we see in the promise where she is vocal about keeping the colonies that will eventually form the united republic, as we see in imbalance where she agrees to stay behind with aang and help him form the city that (he states) will need the both of them, as we see in the aang movie where she’s leading republic city as a council representative and delivering a speech to the citizens with the opening of unity tower.

at this point, it’s her city more than anyone else’s, maybe more than aang’s.
