Jigsaw (2017) When bodies start appearing across the city, police are led to investigate the killings. Only to discover the same Jigsaw impressions on the bodies to suggest John Kramer is still alive. The latest instalment in the Saw universe sees them try to reboot the series with plenty of gore, but leaves a little too much unanswered and outstanding. The deaths are as gruesome as ever, more barbaric and less clever though, which is one thing I always enjoyed with Saw, but lacked in this one. The plot is okay, and the main twist at the end is good but, the build up is where I have the problem. It’s all a bit strange, and some events leave you asking more questions than you have answers. Whilst some things come full circle and make sense, others don’t and you can’t really make sense of it. The gore is as you’d expect and the Soundtrack is as you’d expect and has Charlie Clouser reprising his creative work on it. I think the best way to describe the film is worth a watch but take it for what it is. Overall I’d say it was a ok watch, the gore leaves you with a few good scenes, but only a few moments that really excite the intellectual senses.
