A theory

So in Saw 2 when Amanda is thrown into the needle pit, she survives right. But Jigsaw couldn’t have known that Xavier would throw her in there. He obviously didn’t care for Amanda, he was very apathetic, as a ‘rehabilitator’ should be according to him. So he just let her get almost poisoned to death from a painful heroin overdose? He just let one of his protege’s almost die? Why wouldn’t he have had SOME sort of backup plan in case Amanda was thrown in there?
