“Yes, of course I’ve got a plan. I’m all plans. I’m made of plans.“
Doctor Who — Empress of Mars {Sentence Starters}
@ji-indur
Curufinwëstared at the pirate. Sternly, lengthily, silently. And with one single thoughtin mind: the pirate’s sanity wasn’t growing better. In fact, it was obviouslygetting worse. But the Ñoldo had many matters to worry about, and Ji Indur’s questionablerationality wasn’t one of them. All he could hope for was that the absurd convolutionsof the wraith’s judgement would not affect him.
“Alright, Masterof Plans, I am more than willing to listen. Tell me about your schemes – And Iinsist on the plural. I want – I need to know all the options at hand.” Therewas a will to unsettle him, to force the pirate to deal with his lack ofconsistency, to bring him face to face with his own irrationality and, perhaps,in the back of Curufinwë’s mind dwelt the unspoken pleasure to humiliate him. Everyoneneeded to be entertained at times, everyone… even the gloomier of the re-embodiedHigh Elf.
And after all,the idea hadn’t been his. It was Ji Indur who had insisted, appealedand pled, arguing that he was not the corrupted soul that Curufinwë expectedhim to be. It was Ji who needed to show off, to force the Ñoldo to acknowledgehis good will. Curufinwë, on the other hand, had barely accepted – after muchreluctance – to give Ji a chance, not to redeem himself ( if only the Fëanorionhad any power over redemption!), but to gain his confidence… or at least a partof it. Now, quite unexpectedly, Curvo could almost feel the first tickles ofcuriosity, and despite his silent provocations he was also genuinely willing tohear about those so-called plans.
“Go on.Tell me how you expect to convince me.”
