matthew is definitely a bit dense…
I really really like how tulips can symbolize a declaration of love so I wanted to do a comic based on that,

I used to never ship Matthew with anyone but now I've fallen into BOTH prucan and nedcan. I also couldn't decide which sketch to post. So here, enjoy both.
i should be working on my essay right now but alas...
What Your Favorite Hetalia Ship Says About You (part 4)
feat. GerAme, Prumano, Spaus, BelBel, PruCan, and NedCan.
Please understand that these are jokes and are not meant to be taken seriously. We're all just here for a goof and a laugh.
GerAme: I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that you have a type. And that "type" falls somewhere between jock and nerd. People wouldn't be able to guess it by looking at you, but you highkey thrive in chaos. You relish in gallows humor. You also believe that being offended is a choice. Which is not only valid but absolutely true, and more people should adopt that mindset. However, you gotta learn how to read the room, buddy. Yes, your problematic humor is hilarious, but you may wanna refrain from dark jokes during your loved one's funeral. I can hear your Aunt Marge crying from here.
Random nedcan snippet I spruced up. One of many moments in Matt's life when he's so busy oggling he completely misses everything that should tell him Jan's never going to be his.
Nova Scotia, late 17th or into the 19th century.
"You've yourself a wee admirer," Alasdair laughed as Jan paused and did his mental sums before countering Alasdair's offer price — approximately two tons of salt cod and two of hardtack.
"Make it three of each for that price."
"Three? You're mad! And at least say hello, you rude bastard. The lad's the reason there's even fish to buy."
"Good day," Jan said dryly, but didn't actually glance down to the boy clinging to Alasdair's side, half-sheltered under the length of the man's greatcoat. "I'll take at least two and a half."
"Matthew, what do you say when a superior has addressed you?" He nudged the child softly.
"Good day, sir. Your servant, sir."
Alasdair felt rather than saw the small accompanying dip of a polite bow with the social nicety. He sighed. Better than nothing — considering he hadn't been so shy before Arthur had brought down the entire navy's cannons on his head.
Alasdair glanced down. The boy was peering up at Johan with a look Alasdair rarely saw on anyone but girls ogling Alfred when he took his shirt off to hammer at the blacksmith's anvil. Jan did make for a striking figure, fair and tall as he was in all of that Calvinist black.
"I've never once in a thousand years known you to raise an offer."
"I'm in a hurry! Can't get around the cape if I'm even a week late."

Flowers for someone (and that someone is Canada )
Funfact : the flowers in the drawing are actually Canada 150 tulips , on Canada's 150th aniversary , on May 9, 2016 it was unveiled May 9, 2016, in Commissioners Park. The flower itself was selectively bred with red and white coloring to resemble the maple leaf flag .
