The Cat Before Platform 6: Chapter 2
Jimin offers to help Seokjin because of the guilt at letting his holder lose. In exchange, Seokjin gives Jimin a taste of the mortal world and offers a home, a friend, and the chance to understand what it feels like to be human. What Jimin thought would be an easy tasks ultimately brings him to the greatest sacrifice he’s ever made in hundreds of years of life. But will he do it? Especially if eventually, nobody will remember anything? Not Jungkook who gave his all, nor Seokjin who came back from the dead, nor that good for nothing cat who dealt out propositions like it was the devil. In the end, it was only Jimin; The great and lonely god who had finally found a home, but couldn’t keep it anywhere else but in his heart.
“I’ve never felt so alive,” Seokjin whispers one day, while the rain sounds plattered rhythmically on the road besides them and slid melodically down the grass they were roaming through.
“Me neither,” Jimin whispers back.
Seokjin asks him how old he is. For the first time Jimin replies honestly that he’s older than the Earth itself. Seokjin then asks how Jimin could have not felt very ‘alive’ during all of his many years in the universe. Jimin replies that things can live, but not be alive.
“Why do you feel so alive now then?” Seokjin inquiries
‘Because finding you brought my life to life.' Jimin contemplates answering but reaches the portal before he can bring himself to, and Seokjin forgets to wait for a reply, just like he'll forget the meaning of a life for Gods anyway.
