My mom's been in pain for several months now, have had several x-rays done and only on the third time did my family doctor call us and advised us to go to the hospital. Initially they suspected it to be cancer.

Apparently we've got family history with cancer. I knew one of her younger brothers died a few years from it, but I didn't know how many other family members had it. Grandma had it too, not sure if that was why she passed, I had always assumed it was old age since she was in her 90s.

She's been at the hospital for a week now. Today I got a call from one of doctors telling me that it is in fact lung cancer, the type that non-smokers get. I didn't ask what her chances of surviving are, but I did look it up when I got home and it wasn't ideal.

I have a lot I want to say, but I don't think I can do it right now. Maybe ever.

there's no cure and it's looking like the estimates are currently 3-6 months left...
