I don't want to admit how long it took me to recognize that Wang Zhenlong from Revenged Love is played by the same actor (Zhou Yao) as Jíse Gui (Lustful Ghost) from Word of Honor. Wigs completely alter my perception, I swear. I knew I wanted to punch that guy.

I can't help but think the ghosts all have an elaborate morning routine now 😂 Happy fixes up his stitches like piercings. Changing and Tragicomic Ghost have makeup routines. Honestly I love this for them.

Awww, I love this! 😸 The ghosts all have such fun designs, and makeup is such an important aspect of so many of them. There’s so many subtle details, and it’s interesting noticing them and how they progress. Perhaps the most noteworthy appearance change—other than Tragicomic’s after remembering Zhao Jing, and Beauty Ghost’s transformations in general—is the way Lovelace loses aspects of his design as the story progresses. First the hat, then the eyebrow makeup. Considering that the eyebrow makeup makes a shape reminiscent of Happy Ghost’s in how his brows curl upwards, it can make one wonder if losing the hat and the brow makeup is symbolic of Lovelace gradually becoming less connected with Wuchang Gui and Happy Ghost respectively. Perhaps even foreshadowing how he won’t have either of them present to help keep him out of trouble when he dies.

Anyways, I love Wuchang Gui’s makeup (the green lipstick is so iconic, while the matching eyeshadow under his brows and his eyeliner is subtle but nice). Fun fact that the makeup and mannerisms were his actor’s idea. Which reminds me that I found this video on weibo with a picture of Xue Fei with purple lipstick:

Green is the perfect color for Wuchang Gui, but now I’m kinda wishing that Jin Yan had purple lipstick—but maybe that would make it harder for him to lick his lips 😹

Out of Changing Ghost and his buddies (counting the reapers of course, can't miss his favorite little cosplayers) who do you think is the most trustworthy?

Interesting question, thanks for asking! 😺 When it comes to trustworthiness of the ghosts, it really depends on who’s involved. The grim reaper brothers are probably very trustworthy to each other, but may be much less so towards anyone else except perhaps Wuchang Gui. Given how dangerous Ghost Valley is, trust isn’t an easy thing to build, but it can be hard to survive without it. So, I’ll look at the ghosts from the perspective of someone who’s newer to the valley and needs protection.     

Happy Ghost

Happy Ghost is smart and loyal. If he decides that I’m his ally, he’d probably be reliable in keeping me out of trouble. He can be a bit hot-headed, so I might have to do the same for him 😸

Lovelace

Not necessarily worthy of trust, per say, but probably the easiest to make an ally out of, in a pinch. 

Black Grim Reaper

Neutral, at first. Probably wouldn’t care if I live or die, but at least won’t go out of his way to betray me. Might gradually become more protective.

White Grim Reaper

Even if his heart is in the right place, he’s the most easily intimidated of the ghosts and could be forced or tricked into betraying me. Still, he’d probably be pretty earnest in promising his protection, and would be able to convince his brother to help out.

Changing Ghost

In Ghost Valley, everyone looks out for themselves. One ghost, most of all. Wuchang Gui is powerful and takes care of his own, but has ambitions that would mainly benefit him and endanger everyone else. He’d probably lead me to my doom, but I’d follow anyway (especially for that fashion advice 💚)
