Someone pointed out on MAL forums that Crocodile was on the newspaper Corazon was reading... (How on earth did he spot it?) If I remember correctly, he also had some sort of history with Doflamingo, so that made me think he might show up somewhere soon? (But I wouldn't bet on it because there is so much going on already)

I've written about Crocodile and Doflmaingo's interactions here, and I still don't think there's enough evidence to say that there's a past relationship between them yet. It's likely that they've run into each other before, but whether that was just as Shichibukai, whether they just clashed once or twice as rival pirates, or whether there's any deeper history between them, we don't know.

Personally, I think it's unlikely that Crocodile will have anything to do with Law's backstory. Plus, Crocodile should be in the Grand Line right now, and the Donquixote Pirates are hanging out in the North Blue. I think it's very likely that they'll head into the Grand Line before this flashback is over, but the odds of Crocodile meeting them in person is low, I think, and the odds of him playing any important role are lower still.

But with the larger story, back in present time, I have no idea when Crocodile will show up again! We still don't know where he got his scar and who cut off his hand, so maybe it will turn out it was Kaido or Big Mom, rather than Whitebeard like I'm currently guessing it was, and Croc will help the Straw Hats fight them? Or maybe we'll see him soon, but he won't take an active role in the plot again for years. There's no way to really guess about this, I think.
