Hey! thank you so much and sorry for the late answer, I was away, and yay for Stucky Gloves!!

I’ve never written down a pattern before, but there’s a first time for everything, I presume. Here we go!

Materials:

Yarn: Merino Mix, 60% wool/40% acrylic, 120m per 50g in blue, grey and black (you’ll need about 50g blue and grey and just a few scraps in black for the seam and fingers on Bucky’s glove)

and same yarn, 175m per 50g in red and white

Needles: Two sets of double-point needles size 3mm and 2.5mm (or circular needles the same size if you prefer working with those)

Some waste yarn and a tapestry needle

Note: The yarn is just a suggestion, you can use anything you like. Just use red and white yarn that’s a bit thinner, since the stripes on Steve’s glove are knit using the double-face method. If you don’t know how to do it: Don’t be afraid, it’s easier than it looks! Oddknit has a good tutorial, or just google double knitting.

Gauge swatch:

19 stitches and 25 rows = 10x10cm using 3mm needles and the thicker yarn

Abbreviations:

co: Cast on

p-: purl

k-: knit

k2tog: knit 2 together

p2tog: purl two together

kfb: knit through front and back of stitch

ktbl: knit 2 together through back of the loop

pu1: pick up a stitch from the previous row

Stars:

(work this twice, once red, once white)

co 5 stitches on 2.5mm needles, divide on 3 needles and join into a round

1 (and every odd round): knit

2: kfb x 5

4: (k1, kfb) x 5

6: (k2, kfb) x 5

8: (k3, kfb) x 5

10: (k4, kfb) x 5

11: k6, put the rest of the stitches on hold. You’ll now work with right and wrong sides and decrease on the wrong sides to form points.

12: p2tog, p2, p2tog

14: p2tog x 2

16: p2tog

pull the thread through the loop of the remaining stitch. Repeat rows 11-16 to make the other 4 points, Sew in all lose ends, wet and block.

Steve (right glove):

cast on 44 stitches, divide on 4 needles, join into a round

1: knit

2: purl

3: knit

4: purl

Work in stockinette stitch (knit every round) for about 13-15 cm (depending on how long your forearm is). 

Now the fun begins (aka red-and-white double knit stripes)! Change to red and white yarn and 2.5mm needles. To do this, just take both the red and white yarn and knit one round. Make the stripes about even - start with 3 stitches red, than 5 white, 6 red, 5 white, 6 red, 5 white, 6 red, 5 white, 3 red. Work stripes for about 5 cm, then change to blue (and 3mm needles) again. Remember to always knit one red and white stitch together, so you end up with 44 stitches.

Wrist:

1: k first two needles, k5, p1, k1, p1, k1, p1, k1, p1, k1, p1, k1, p1, k to end of round

2: k first two needles, k5, ktbl, p1, k1, p1, k1, p1, k1, p1, k2tog, k to end of round

3: work every stitch as in the previous round (knit the knitted and purl the purled ones)

4: k first two needles, k6, ktbl, p1, k1, p1, k1, p1, k2tog, k to end of round

5: as 3

6: k first two needles, k6, kfb, p1, k1, p1, k1, p1, kfb, k to end of round

7: as 3

You should now have 42 stitches. 

Thumb:

knit to last stitch of second needle, pu1, k2 (last stitch of second and first stitch of third needle), pu1 knit to end of round 

next 2 rounds: knit

knit to picked up stitch, pu1, k4, pu1, knit to end of round

next 2 rounds: knit

Continue like this until you’ve increased 5 stitches on every needle, and have a total of 12 stitches between the increases.

Knit 1 more round.

Knit to increase section, put 12 stitches on hold, co 2, knit to end of the round. Knit about five more rounds (depending on the size of your hand).

Fingers: 

We’ll start with the little finger. Take 5 stitches from the fourth and 5 stitches from the first needle, put the rest on hold. knit the 5 from the first needle, co 1, join into a round. knit one more row, change to 2.5mm needles, knit 2 more rounds. Change to red, knit 3 rounds, change to white, knit 3 rounds, change to red, knit 1 round, purl 1 round, knit 1 round, bind off purl-wise.

Ring finger and middle finger: take five stitches from the palm side and five from the front with 3 mm needles. Start knitting at the front. k5, co 2, k5, pick up 2 stitches from little/ring finger, join round. Knit 2 more rounds, change to 2.5mm needles, knit 2 more rounds, work stripes as described with the little finger.

Index finger: pick up remaining stitches (12) with 3mm needles, start knitting at the front. k12, pick up 2 from middle finger, join round. Work as described with ring/middle finger.

Thumb: pick up thumb stitches with 3mm needles, start knitting at the front side, pick up 4 stitches from the hand section (from where you cast on 2 stitches). Knit to last stitch before the picked up stitches, k2tog, k2, ktbl. Knit one more round. Change to 2.5mm needles, knit 2 more rounds, work stripes as described above.

Sew on the white star, sew in all lose ends.

Bucky (left glove, naturally):

Start with black. Work the garter stitch border as described above. Work about 4cm in black, change to grey, work in stockinette stitch until the whole thing is about 20cm long (or, about 3cm short of your desired length, just make sure the two gloves are even).

Wrist: Work as described above, only use the first and second needle, instead of the third and fourth.

Thumb: Work as described above. Change to black in the last round before you put the stitches on hold. Continue working in black.

Fingers: Work the fingers as described above, starting with the little finger again. Make them about even length with the other gloves, which is a bit tricky, since the yarn is thicker. About 10 rows per finger plus the garter stitch border should do it.

Sew on red star, sew in all lose ends. Try not to squeal too much when wearing them in public :)
