The Return of The King 👑
Finally we got clue to the longest running mystery of Sukuna's first look in the background of first color page
jjk readers, i have a genuine question regarding shoko in chapter 220. specifically, this panel:
when shoko says: "that's something that would've never happened [...]" — what exactly is she referring to?
i thought it was simple: that she'll never fall in love with either gojo or geto. however, the whole passage spoke about loneliness/being alone.
am i reading it wrong when i think shoko's line refers back to gojo saying "i won't leave anyone alone"? especially because in the next panel she emphasises that gojo was never alone, she was there all along.
so, how i'm interpreting the panel now is something alone the lines of: "i was in love with one of you...being alone is something that i won't ever let happen."
i don't mind romantic implications; however, i don't know if that fits the general plot? i'm just confused, and it's mostly because of the various translations.
i also don't have knowledge in japanese, so i'm not able to read the untranslated panels (which might change everything).
though, if shoko stayed alongside gojo to make sure he wouldn't feel alone, it's rather sad that she feels "unseen" (for lack of better words). still, i do like to believe that these two are each other's (emotional) support systems in times of need and actually do spend moments together in their adult life (e.g.: the lightnovel).
but yeah, it would be cool if someone could share their two cents on this !!
nobara will come back next chapter no trust me guys no just hear me out she’s actually in the hospital reception desk getting discharged right now-

Gojo box reveal soon? 👩🏻🦯

Me, staring listlessly into the void as I add yet another checkmark on my list of accidental-cursed-shitposting-tweets-turned-canon: /inserts [benafflecksmoking dot jpeg meme]
Lol while twatter fandom is collectively losing it over how Yuuji is willing to ingest anything—even the remaining Death Painting wombs since he’s now akin to a walking cursed object imbued with remnants of Sukuna’s own cursed energy—so that he can continue to fight Sukuna and try to save Megumi; I the fool, apparently share similar cursed brain cells as one (1) demon Cyclops Cat. I can probably make a bingo card for all my cursed tweets at this rate lmao
To be fair, Akutami has been planting his flags and hints everywhere and I spend too much time overthinking random details. Also, I’m bad at dodging Apollo's dodgeball ! Jokes aside, and moving forward with the plot: I’m guessing from here on Yuuji may eventually ingest Sukuna’s last five fingers, and if he and Maki can figure out a way to trap the bulk of Sukuna’s soul into... idk, one of Megumi’s finger (the right index finger with the small cut we saw before, perhaps?), or Maki can somehow sever that part of Sukuna’s soul from Megumi body using her Split Soul katana, allowing Yuuji to ingest it so that he can fully cage Sukuna back within him again… it's a possibility.
Since Angel and Hana are still (thankfully) alive and seems willing to help, Gojou may also be freed from Prison Realm soon enough down the road.
I know we’re all jumping for joy rn and I hate to be the doom and gloom but I do not trust that cat one bit.
He’s going to make all of our favs suffer and die. Slowly chapter by chapter. Whilst hinting more and more about the unsealing of Gojo. To bring the characters and us hope. Fight after fight. Scream after scream. And then he’s finally free. Everyone online is rejoicing but the minute Gojo walks around he sees the deaths of his comrades and students all over. He sees the destruction of his absence. The society he spent his entire life trying to keep in balance. Gone. Then there’s the line “you are the strongest after all”
Strongest but at what cost
Hi lele! I would like to ask, how do you interpret Shoko’s thought ‘i was in love with one of you, it’s something that would’ve never happened even if the world was turned upside down’ ? At first I thought Shoko will never love neither of her idiot teammates, but the more I read I het the gist of ‘I would not admit that I like you’ or ‘It would never be reality’ (as in maybe Suguru’s dead or Satoru’s captured). What do you think?
Hi there, you two! This is the original panel
I would translate this as "Actually I was in love with either of you. But nothing will ever happen even if the sky and the earth are turned over."
To give better context we need the next panel though:
"I was there, (you know?), who said you were alone, idiot?"
I think the nuance for her feelings is that she feels the two of them overlook her. She was willing to hear them if they ever cared - but the two of them were too focused on their own selves.
