HAH.
As you may or may not know, I’ve been solo coding for vegabonds, for quite some time now, it’s been lengthy because everything is coded in C# using XNA, we’ve found many gameplay issues along the way, we’ve now only just got something set in stone, I have enough assets for a demo stage, yippie!.
But the REAL issue is getting the demo stage done.
You see, I work fulltime, which was kinda a stupid move on my part, since I do school fulltime, so it leaves me with no time in the day to work on Vegabonds.
I was working on all 3, but then school suffered, so now I should have been finished and I’m on a tight extension where as if I complete an assignment in the time, I basically fail.
Now, this school I’m attending is IT Deploma of software and games design, so that’s a big reason I can’t afford to fail (and the fact I’m $22k in debit from the fees .etc).
So that’s my excuse why nothing is being done on vegabonds, I don’t know how many people were looking forward to it, but I just want to say it’s NOT DEAD, I HAVE THE ASSETS FOR A DEMO, IF ANYONE SAYS IT IS, THEY ARE LYING.
So after school, I can dive straight into working on the engine, and have this thing back in motion, it’s taking all my willpower to hold off from coding on this, because I friggin’ love it, while other developers give excuses, that’s mine, and I don’t really care if you believe me or not.
This is because I have the attitude like most of the successful 90′s nintendo devs, and that’s “I’m making a game I WANT TO PLAY” I’m going to be selfish and say I’m not doing it for you, the reader, I’m not doing this game for bear (The leader and artist on this project) I’m doing it for ME, I want to complete this engine, and play vegabonds.
So either way, mid this year, I’ll have a playable demo of Vegabonds, all to myself. BWHAHAA.
PS: Don’t shoot me, but I’ve done a rewrite, or more of an overhaul of the game engine too, because of physics, but that’s ok, everythings pretty modular. Just bear with me. and my excuses.
