New York Engagement: Diron & Johnnie

Diron and Johnnie opted for a cosy, intimate engagement session at their beautiful home near Poughkeepsie in New York. We had a quiet and relaxed session which resulted in beautiful photographs that captured the deep love they had for each other. Here are a few photos from their New York engagement session.

In late November 2014 I did my first sports and fitness oriented shoot. As someone who is health conscious and into fitness it was only natural that I extend this personal passion to my photography. So I enlisted Jana Lichtenstein, known to her friends as Miss fitness, who is very much into healthy eating, body building, cross training, running and yoga. The team for this shoot was Antoinette “Sashii” Bailey of Awaken Anew U Beauty Studio to give Jana a natural makeup look and my creative assistant on most of my projects Tanisha Ennis.

I decided to do a studio shoot for this project and used a black backdrop to keep the attention on the model. I used my Paul C. Buff AlienBees B800 and PLM Soft Silver Umbrella as the key light, high above the model and slightly to the side. I then used my Nikon SB 910 in a small softbox and my Nikon SB 700 as kick lights one either side behind the model. I shot the session with my Nikon D800 and Nikon 70-200mm 2.8 lens. (See diagram below)

I had a great time doing this shoot and I am already looking forward to doing another fitness oriented shoot in the near future! Here are some of the images from the shoot!
