The Matrix Reloaded was mostly filmed at Fox Studios in Australia. Filming began on March 1, 2001 and ended on August 21, 2002, concurrently with the filming of the second sequel, Revolutions.

Aaliyah was originally given the role, Zee, and shot many of her scenes, but not enough to be shown in the film upon her passing (August 25, 2001) before filming was complete, requiring her scenes to be reshot with Nona Gaye. Jet Li was offered the role of Seraph, but turned it down as he did not want his martial arts moves digitally recorded.

The film premiered on May 7, 2003 and would gross $741.8 million on a $150million budget.

So for the second time this month, I log on to @artnet to read the stories of the day and smack dab in my face is another about @jeffkoons and @gagosian not keeping their word to clients. And when clients bark, they risk not only their money but their “relationship” with the artist and gallerists going forward. I have two questions about this: 1: How are these institutions acquiring these pieces? It seems that each collector that tries to commission one (lately at least) they are met with a story of delayed creation while still accepting large sums of down payments. 2. I know the art world is small, how many other collectors just forfeited the money because it wasn’t a big deal? Lending thought to possibly more cases that haven’t been reported. 3. #JoelSilver (the accuser) made many attempts to protect himself from potential fraud but they bullied him and used “coercive tactics” against him and the previous accuser #StevenTananbaum to get them to pay remaining balances without receiving works.
