Gorgo is only semi-relevant today because of its status as a Godzilla ripoff and Kaiju fans. I'm the only person actually interested in the human characters, which I don't think is at all surprising because the movie INTENDS for you to focus on the big monster and not big homo.
But jokes on them, I can focus on the big monster AND big homo at the same time.
The Wilsons are CEOs of familial obligation. If Slade asks, they have to do it, he’s their dad! No matter how intimate it might be…

The sheer power of slagrant…. It would ruin Slade forever. Regretful if they never did anything, guilty if they did… forever idolizing this version of his son that never existed…. The rest of his kids trying to emulate him for their father’s approval a la brudick… a lot to consider here.
Very funny that every GORGO (1961) review I've read has mentioned the strange and almost deeply homoerotic relationship between Sam Slade and Joe Ryans at least once. So even other people can agree this movie was faggy, intentionally or not.

There's a scene in GORGO where Joe offers Sam to go out for a couple of drinks, Sam denies and then Joe tells Sam he got himself, in his own words "a suite of rooms in the best hotel in town" and once again invites Sam over.
