Mahogany was released on 8 October 1975.

John Byrum turned down the opportunity to adapt Jaws in order to write the script for Mahogany, due to Byrum's desire to work with director Tony Richardson. Richardson was fired by Motown founder and producer Berry Gordy early in the production (with Gordy receiving the director's credit).

The film was a modest success, but the soundtrack was a Top 20 hit and the "Theme from Mahogany" hit #1 and was nominated for an Academy Award ("I'm Easy" from Nashville received the Oscar).

Sphinx will be released on Blu-ray on June 15 via Scream Factory. The 1981 adventure thriller is based on the 1979 novel of the same name by Robin Cook.

Franklin J. Schaffner (Planet of the Apes) directs from a script by John Byrum (The Razor's Edge). Lesley-Anne Down, Frank Langella, Maurice Ronet, and John Gielgud star.

Extras will be announced at a later date, but Scream Factory has confirmed that Sphinx will receive a new high-definition transfer.

A beautiful, dedicated Egyptologist finds her life threatened many times while traveling from Cairo to Luxor's Valley of the Kings. She is in search of a mysterious tomb of riches, which also holds great interest for black marketeers.

This movie oozes melodrama in every possible way, but man, if it isn’t fun. Billy Dee Williams and Diana Ross have a really warm on-screen chemistry, and their scenes together are frequently the highlight of the movie. The story itself is always loud, but somehow it works. I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would, haha. 7/10.
