52. Psycho Pirate (and Deegan) in „Crisis on Infinite Earths“ (Batwoman / The Flash /  Supergirl)

That one was actually puzzeling. At the end of „Elseworlds“ they did tease „Crisis on Infininte Earths“ and had Deegan and Psycho Pirate becoming friend or something like that. Now, Psycho Pirate was the one Barry was supposed to be fighting in 2024 before he vanished in the latest version of the Newspaper before the date changed to 2019. There cleary was a reason behind introducing Pyscho Pirate during „Elseworlds“ and teaming him up with Deegan. The really strange thing is that neither of those two men ever showed up during Crisis. They didn’t even show up on „Batwoman“ under different cicumstances. So there was this big tease, that lead to nothing. But what was it supposed to lead too? Well it is resasonable to assmue that Psycho Pirate and Deegan were suppodes to be in Crisis, when they were originally planning the Event. There was a Subplot about villains teaming up in the Comic Version, so I assume this was the beginning of that, but the idea was dropped when the Crossover became too big and too many guest stars, who actually were willing to make an appearance, were collected. It is still very strange that neither Deegan nor Psycho Pirate ever showed up again after „Elseworlds“. They could have resolved that scene in „Batwoman“ prior to Crisis or somewhen in „The Flash“. If the whole „Barry is vanishing“-Storyline is not gone, at least Psycho Pirate could come back for it, I guess. But we have no newspaper anymore and no date, so I assume Crisis was it and Eric Wallace is not picking up that storyline again, but I could be wrong there.

I’m watching the Arrowverse Elseworlds Crossover event and my mom babysat this dude when he was a kid. She shakes her head sadly and says “he was a cute kid, I don’t know what happened. He keeps playing creepy villains.”

Also: I don’t think it says anywhere on the internet that he ever spent time in Vermont. He must not have had happy memories here. But mom remembers him and his brother. He liked Star Wars.
