"Bango!"
"Ahhh!" *slams into wall* OH 30 ROCK!! YOU NEVER FAIL ME!
talk with John Han.
wow. honestly so blessed to have a brother as wonderful as him in my life.
after talking with him last night, i wrote a little in my journal today. it was the first time in months that i wrote something down that wasnt church/sermon related; you know, something that i really felt compelled to put down. here's most of it.
"Today is the day of the AACC's Annual Pan-Asian Lunar New Year Festival. For obvious reasons, I'm not very focused right now. I have really just been meditating on what John told me yesterday about his struggles. It's really mmm... encouraging (?) that others struggle with the things I do. I mean, obviously, right? But still its nice to actually hear it from one of my closest brothers.
I think he impacted me so much just because (I'd like to think) we're so close. I struggle with so much, but everything he told me really helped out a lot."
[the next part i wrote down is something he said and what I learned from it]:
'Be careful'
--> guard your heart more than you go about stumbling others' hearts. It is Satan's ultimate desire for me to falter and fall into temptations. As much as I should fear those I am tempted to flirt with, I need to recognize that with each act of sin I commit, my heart becomes calloused; God's Spirit will have a harder time permeating the walls of my heart. But Satan's fire burns with joy when he sees this. I cannot let him win.
'Don't worry about what others think'
--> do you and don't worry. If it's right, God will show you; if it's wrong, God will rebuke you. The thoughts of others don't matter because if it is for the betterment of your relationship with God, then what authority does anyone else have to judge you? It all goes back to God. Please Him, and good fortune will (usually) be placed upon you. He is all knowing and will put in your life the people that will encourage and support you. (like John Han!) :D
'Don't let guilt break you down'"
[so I didn't get the chance to finish my journal entry, but i'll do so now]
--> when John said this, it really didn't hit me at first. I feel as though this is often my greatest problem. I really put myself down when I do something wrong. But never in a positive way; instead I'm so often just wallowing in my own stupidity that I don't get anything done. I never end up fixing what cause the problem to begin with. Isn't Satan's greatest desire for us to fall away from God? He desires that we place all blame upon on ourselves and never looking for a solution in Christ.
'Say and do'
--> I realized only just recently how little I actually act. I've been complaining about my struggles with flirting so often these days but I don't do anything about it. I just wish I realized this before I hurt people.
I'm really thankful for John Han. He makes me think and consider real things.
