Okay. This is gonna be heavy for a bit but I gotta get real with all of y’all for a second.
Because I’m tired.
Tired of the riots. Tired of the negligence. Tired of the crying and injustices and hurt and ignorance and pain and death.
There’s a power imbalance here, is what we’re fighting against. And it seems that it’s always pinned from one end of the spectrum to the other. Cops and civilians. Poor and rich.
Whites against blacks.
And you know what, I get it, because you’re tired too. Tired of seeing your brothers and sisters whittled down to nothing but a name on a headline. Your past a script to rehearse for the cameras that broadcast, the eyes that watch.
I pray for it to go away. I beg for it to end. But it’s hard when you’re brought down to silence to allow the stronger voices to speak over you.
We hurt too you know, and I’m angry that there’s no response for the injustices made to those that stand in the middle.
Where’s the riots for Nicolas Chavez? A man gunned down on his knees as he sought for help while being surrounded by 70 officers? SEVENTY.
The outlash for Michael Ramos who was shot with a rifle as he drove away in a panic after having been hit with a beanbag, for sitting in his car?
Ariel Roman was shot in the abdomen and then in the back after being tased and sprayed. For moving between subway cars. Eric Rosalia was about to be subdued with a taser for storming out of his garage with a steak knife when a backup officer proceeded to fire three shots into him. Chauna Thompson walking away with a slap on the wrist for ordering her husband to tackle John Hernandez into a chokehold until he went braindead.
We have to work together, because we can only go so far for them to listen. We have to make them understand we do not appreciate them killing us, ALL of us, that stand in their way when all they have to dictate how much of a threat we pose is by the color of our skin or the constitution of our facial features. Racial inequality is spread throughout those who's skin tone is determined suspicious when contrasted against a paper bag.
I’m not taking away from Sha’Teina Grady El who was repeatedly punched in the face by an officer.
I’m still in disbelief that both Breonna Taylor and Botham Jean were gunned down in their own apartments.
I still hurt for Philando Castile. The injustices for George Floyd. The practical lynching of Ahmaud Arbery.
Alton Sterling.
Tamir Rice.
Eric Garner.
Michael Brown.
Trayvon.
They take one look at the protesting we do for Black Lives Matter and water it down to anarchist retaliation in search of senseless riots and a thirst for violence, pining it against one race.
Blacks.
That’s not what we’re doing. We’re yelling at the top of our lungs in a justice system that is drowning out our voices and we’re all hurting, we’re all tired.
But we need to make them understand we’re tired of them killing us ALL.
LATINO MAN MURDERED BY AN OFF DUTY COP
HOUSTON- A video released Monday shows John Hernandez -- the 24-year-old who died after a confrontation with a Harris County deputy's husband outside a Denny's restaurant -- struggling on the ground while being held in a chokehold by the man. The footage was captured by a concerned citizen who recorded the incident, despite being told by the deputy to stop filming. The video, which is disturbing to watch, is confirmation of a cover up, according to the Hernandez family attorney. "This is what witnesses have been saying all along," said Randall Kallinen, a civil rights lawyer. "The Harris County deputies actively tried to cover up the killing at the scene and let a killer go free because he was married to a deputy." Hernandez died Wednesday after being taken off life support at Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital. His family made the tough decision to remove breathing tubes after it was determined by doctors that Hernandez was brain dead. The family is now seeking justice and feels that his death could have been prevented. Investigators said the deputy's husband drove up to a Denny's restaurant in the 17700 block of the Crosby Freeway on Sunday at around 11:40 p.m. His children were in the car with him as they waited to meet with his wife, an HCSO deputy who was off-duty at the time. While waiting in the parking lot, deputies said the husband saw Hernandez urinating in public and went to verbally confront the man about his behavior. Officers said the argument escalated to a physical altercation. Moments later, the deputy, who was off-duty at the time, arrived in a separate vehicle. Video clearly shows the deputy's husband on top of Hernandez's back with a strong chokehold around his neck. Hernandez is seen on the video kicking his back legs, and making audible sounds of struggle. The husband would not let go. The deputy began telling the person capturing footage of the fight to stop recording her husband because it was "illegal." The deputy allegedly called the Sheriff’s office for backup and emergency medical services before helping her husband restrain Hernandez, investigators said. The man did not get off of Hernandez until he stopped moving. When the deputy realized Hernandez was not breathing, she began to perform CPR on him until paramedics arrived, witnesses said. Neither the deputy nor her husband were injured during the altercation, authorities said. No charges have been filed at this time. The deputy will remain on active duty while Internal Affairs investigates her involvement in the incident, the sheriff's office said. The Hernandez family is left in disbelief, and says the attack happened in front of Hernandez's young daughter. "John's 3-year-old daughter witnessed the killing and begged the killer to stop hitting her daddy," the girl's mother, Maria Toral, said. Kallinen has demanded the sheriff’s office allow an independent, outside investigation of the death. Sheriff Ed Gonzalez didn't beat around the bush regarding how the internal investigation may look to the public, but added he's confident in the office's ability to be transparent, thorough and unbiased. He also assured that the deputy's husband was not receiving preferential treatment because of his wife's position. Gonzalez said the investigation is still in its early stages, and the Sheriff's office doesn't want to rush to any quick judgments. “[It] was an altercation that occurred between two parties, and obviously, it was fatal for Mr. Hernandez, unfortunately,” Gonzalez said. “But part of [the investigation] is to see what led to that. What was the actual cause? That’s why we could look at video footage, but a medical examiner needs to tell us this was cause of death, this is what led to the death. Not, yes, he died. But, he was on top? Was there another health issue? There’s different factors in this type of case.” Attorneys for the Hernandez family and several witnesses say the video leaves no doubt as to what caused the young father's death. "An anonymous concerned citizen brought me the video because he said it shows murder," said criminal defense lawyer Jack Carroll, "I concur." The Harris County Sheriff's Office released the following statement: “Harris County Sheriff’s Office investigators are aware of the cell phone video that was made public today. The investigation into the death of John Hernandez remains a high priority and will be referred to the Harris County District Attorney’s Office for consideration in a timely manner.”
If yall are in Houston Tx...y'all go show support to the Family of John Hernandez. He was Killed by Terry Thompson, husband of Deputy Chuana Thompson who did nothing to stop him. There needs to be Justice!!! Its not Fair that JUST because they are white and one of them is a cop its okay for them to be released on Bond. Fuck that. If it was the other way around. If they were people of color their asses would have gotten life in prison. But the reality is They are white/ and a cop, and because of that Justice has not yet been served. I personally think it was probably a hate crime, their is footage of Terry at a Trump rally with a woman next to him saying "If you don't speak English, get out of this country" and because his wife is a cop, he probably thought he had some type of power of Authority, I'm sure he thought he could get away with it I will be there along side some of my brown beret comrads showing support to the Family of John Hernandez, may he rest in peace.
John Hernandez was murdered by a deputy's husband. If this doesn’t highlight the deep trouble our society faces with police brutality idk what will. If you see my post and the first thing that comes to your mind is me attacking the police force you need to really sit down and learn some history that you missed along the way. Police brutality is not a new issue that millennials just started to trivialized. The unnecessary force of violence committed by cops against people has existed since jim crow. The only difference is that with facebook, videos and the magic of social media you are forced to be confronted by it. This is why movements like BLM are critical because when black and brown of are given their humanity back in the eyes of all systems of society, all lives will matter.
Please please read!
In case you haven’t heard about it: today in Texas a Harris County police officer, Shauna Thompson, and her husband, Terry Thompson, just got indicted for murdering 24 year old John Hernandez outside of a Denny’s on May 28th. Today a grand jury claimed there was enough probable cause to indict both the Thompson and the officer. Here is the video that shows Hernandez being held down and choked. (please be aware that this video is unedited and can be very hard to watch, containing violence, obscene language, and blood. Please watch at your own risk)
John Hernandez walk out of denny’s after having a altercation with his wife. While outside “Terry Thompson confronted Hernandez after he saw him urinating outside a Denny’s restaurant near Beltway 8 and U.S. 90. That led to a physical altercation between the two. Thompson’s wife, Deputy Shauna Thompson, arrived minutes later (in a separate vehicle) and helped subdue Hernandez. She was not on duty.”
It was reported that Hernandez was struggling to breath while being held in a chokehold for about 10 minutes. "John’s 3-year-old daughter witnessed the killing and begged the killer to stop hitting her daddy". When Deputy Thompson realized he wasn’t breathing she began CPR until the paramedics arrived. John Hernandez was then brought to Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital and died 3 days later on Wednesday May 31st.
Soon into the video a woman (it was learned later she is Thompson’s daughter) steps in front of the camera and says that It’s “illegal” to record the altercation. Then another man steps in to say “that lady is a sheriffs deputy,” and “if you continue (to record) you will go to jail.” It was also learned that Terry Thompson was possibly drunk at the time of the incident.
Thompson was interview in the back of the car and then let go because they didn’t have enough evidence to hold him at the time. When more information was learned he was still NOT brought in (now over a week later). Today there was a grand jury and they decided that there was enough probable cause to indict both Shauna and Terry Thompson. The bail will be set for $100,000 each.
At the moment it is believed to not be a hate crime. There is not enough evidence at the moment to prove if it was or not, but the investigation continues.

John was 24 year old father and he didn’t deserve this and I pray for the family and everyone effected. I truly hope he gets justice soon and they lock these two up for a long time.
