There are so many human au fics I could recommend for this. But here are a few that I think you might like!

Paper Thin Walls by MrsCaulfield (E)

Sure being in love with your best friend when he also happens to live in the flat next door, where you can hear every single one of his conquests through that shared wall, sounds challenging. But being in love with your best friend when he lives next door and you two used to shag? Might just be a tad more difficult, but Aziraphale muddles through somehow.

Aziraphale summons a demon to his bookshop to demand (*politely ask) a little favor of him. Was it a great idea to summon a literal demon from hell to be your friend for a bit? Maybe not. But Aziraphale has been a bit lonely lately, and he's tried everything, really. Turns out the demon he calls is less Demon and more Grumpy, Cuddly Man, but, hey. He's not complaining.

Aziraphale sells his soul in exchange for friendship, and gets more than he bargained for.

Asa Fell has known from childhood that he’s supposed to be an Aurent – a seer of angels. His failure at Aurency is just one more thing his family is disappointed in. He’s never attempted to invoke his Guardian. He doesn’t want to add yet another item to their litany of things he’s failed at. But when his bullying landlord Gabriel threatens to take his beloved bookshop from him, Asa, with nowhere left to turn, invokes his Guardian.

Nothing could have prepared him for Crowley.

Crowley was created to be a Guardian. He knew from the very beginning that it was his duty to stand beside his Aurent, and protect and guide them. He knows it’s a sacred bond that goes both ways. When he falls from Heaven, he resigns himself to the fact that no-one will accept him as a Guardian.

Nothing could have prepared him for Asa.

Can a fallen Guardian and an emotionally buttoned-up bookseller learn to love and be loved? Or are their two worlds simply not meant to collide?

Anthony J. Crowley has come to terms with the fact he was approaching his 50th birthday and hasn’t found his soulmate yet. He’s fine with it, absolutely uh-mazing. Wahoo, never been better.

This curtain of delusion drops when he meets Aziraphale, some coot who’s more cushion than man with a questionable taste in walking sticks and also, incidentally, Crowley’s soulmate. Sadly enough, this doesn't seem to apply both ways as Aziraphale won’t mention any change in his vision after their first contact. If Crowley just wasn't this besotted with his angel, he maybe wouldn't overlook the obvious signs for as why Aziraphale wouldn't see any colour...

- Soulmate AU in which you're able to see colour after touching your soulmate for the first time. Problematic if one of them is blind and the other an idiot.

When the Party’s Over by the_huffster (M)

Anthony J. Crowley lives the fast and wild life of a nightclub personality, basking in the many perks and struggling to maintain a normal, private life. He's the talk of the town (not always a good thing), and an appearance from him guarantees crowds at any nightlife establishment.

Aziraphale Fell lives the quiet life that comes with owning a bookshop, content with the routine he has settled into over the years. His (short lived) days of soaking in London's nightlife are behind him and it's for the better, judging by what the tabloids and gossip columns say about that particular scene.

When their completely different paths cross, Crowley finds himself drawn to the almost angelic bookshop owner and Aziraphale finds himself intrigued by the bad boy of London's nightlife.

Hello! I already sent an ask in September so it might have been eaten. I’m looking for a human AU, a pirate AU to be precise. Crowley was a pirate captain and Aziraphale his childhood friend/ first love who he lost sight of after a misunderstanding/fight. I remember it was explicit, a bit angsty at times, but I think it had a happy ending. Unfortunately I remember neither title nor author. Thanks for your help and your great blog!

just the one fandom, good omens! although i may write for other stuff someday, we shall see :)

4) What are your top five fics by kudos?

alrightie so top 5 are better creatures (my baby), i'll never be lonely, wasteland, baby (that i just completed last week yay!!), what a lovely way to burn, and baby, this don't even feel like falling. :) obviously we see a trend here where all my favorites are song references oops

5) Do you respond to comments, why or why not?

fuuuuuck yes i do! it may take me a while sometimes but only because i'm overwhelmed by the love and i am speechless and i never quite know how to convey how much i appreciate the support :)

6) What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?

"baby, this don't even feel like falling" for sure. i LOVE writing angst but i never end with a sad/angsty ending, and this one was the only one that was a sad ending/hopeful for the future.

7) Do you write crossovers? If so what is the craziest one you’ve written?

nah i never have, not my thing! i can't picture all my comfort characters hanging out they're all so different

no i haven't!! people are much too kind to me and my writing

yes i have before, it's terrifying and i live in constant fear of writing porn on the internet but hey if it makes the masses happy!! it's usually a vague sort of fade-to-black kind of smut but it's there lmao

not to my knowledge, that sounds terrible though goodness

no! maybe i could translate some of my own stuff i guess if anybody wanted it? and i'd be open to the idea of course if anyone else wanted that :)

yeah i wrote something really fun with @lindenlied "what a lovely way to burn"!! it was so fun to do and really exciting to work with linden on the project :)

13) What’s your all time favourite ship?

oof they're all my favorites but i LOVE hannigram (hannibal), dean/cas (supernatural), and the ineffable idiots themselves (good omens)

14) What’s a WIP you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?

i started a hannibal fic! but it's really only for myself, i'm not even sure i'd ever even post it i just wanted to try my hand at it. but it's been fun! there's also another good omens wip i started a loooong time ago and never kept working on, maybe someday it'll get done!

15) What are your writing strengths?

uhhhhhh i think i'm good at descriptions! and angst, i quite enjoy putting the suffering to words lmao.

16) What are your writing weaknesses?

dialogue yikeys, it's difficult for me because i think the thought processes are often much more substantial than whatever the dialogue includes, but i do wish i could be a bit better at it. also sometimes the whole word thing is hard because english is not my first language so sometimes i need to either phrase something different or phone a friend lmao.

17) What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

i LOVE IT i love it. i have a weird thing for languages and linguistics so it's actually the most delightful thing. i love reading it

18) What was the first fandom you wrote for?

good omens! although technically i think i wrote some supernatural stuff way back in the day but minor little ficlets and i have no idea where those went lol. first real writing foray was good omens!

19) What’s your favourite fic you’ve written?

oh man, i'd say either i'll never be lonely or better creatures. better creatures will always be my baby, my first real big story i wrote, my intro to fanfiction, my quarantine baby, and got me through a really tough time and people were and continue to be so supportive of it!! but also the other one is very personal to me and was just such a soft story that i really wrote for myself. i needed that story so i wrote it for myself :)

“Listen. Fell. I…I might, uh, have an idea.” “You do?” Aziraphale said, and hated the hopeful way he said it. “I’ll do it.” “You…won’t like it.” “Will it keep me out of prison?” “Maybe. Maybe the both of us. For now. Ideally.” “Then yes.” Crowley’s expression tightened, and Aziraphale wasn’t sure if Crowley wanted to cry, or laugh. “You really, really won’t like it.” “I’ll like prison less.” He responded plainly. Crowley’s face twisted into something soft at first, just for a second, before searing into a careful little smirk, and Aziraphale knew that smile, that Cheshire cat smile, much too well to not be cautious. “Crowley, dear. What are you doing on the floor?” He cleared his throat. “Angel. Remember when I said you wouldn’t like it? Well, uh, here we are.” His smile grew awkwardly, apologetically, and Aziraphale had a sinking feeling about it. “Angel. Will you marry me?” —– Crowley and Aziraphale plan a fake marriage to avoid having to testify against each other in court…they get much more than they bargained for.

What draws you to human AUs? How do you create or develop or decide on them? What sorts of things do you always make sure to bring over from the original world/characters?

i really like human au's because it makes me feel like it could really happen; i love reading stories and consuming content that is completely fantastical but when i write i like to imagine that it's really possible somewhere somehow, that something like that could happen to any of us someday. not to say there's no magical elements in any of my stories but human au's make me feel like...i don't know, feel a little hope maybe? that there's really love like that out there somewhere. dunno.

i usually find story ideas from other media, like movies, poems, songs. i like a premise, or a character, or an idea that sparks into something so big it's suddenly all i can think of and i make this whole world in my head i escape to that's just so big i have to write it down just to be free of it! however i try to continue consuming good omens content at the same time (fanart, GO blogs, the show, the book) to make sure i'm keeping all the bits from the OG boys where i can, or taking aspects of their personality traits and twisting them to fit my story.
