Now for a quick lesson in relations •if shared parents: siblings •if shared grandparent: 1st cousins •if shared great-grandparents: 2nd cousins And this continues on so long as you are in the same generation, now here is where things get complicated: •person A's grandparent is person B's great grandparent: first cousins once removed •person A's great grandparent is person B's great great great grandparent: second cousins twice removed A degree removed just means how many generations differ between however it can tend to get confusing. Now why am I talking about this?
