Azriel volunteered to rescue Elain because someone he cared about was in danger. Anyone from the IC could have done it but he wanted to be directly involved and was willing to risk his life in the process.

Azriel rescued Gwyn because he happened to be in the right place at the right time. He was doing his job and did what any decent fae male would do in that situation.

There’s a reason one is considered romantic while the other one isn’t. And that’s not even getting into the circumstances of Gwyn’s rescue and why it would be problematic to ship her with Azriel specifically.

So I’m in a lovely little group on Facebook for The Folk of The Air fans and one of those amazing ladies was kind enough to post Cardan’s letters from the Queen of Nothing Barnes and Noble edition. According to Holly these should be read after the book however I just couldn’t help myself. I’m posting them here in case you’re also like me and have no self control. I haven’t actually read any of Queen of Nothing yet but these letters made my heart ache.
