Learned Mortality Artwork Thread | Episode 17-20

Spoilers ahead for the artwork that appeared in these episodes of Learned Mortality; please watch them first before you read this post!

Learned Mortality has been really heating up as of late so you should really check these episodes out, they're some of my best work ^-^

Starting with episode 17, we saw the retrieval (or rather, discovery) of the care package requested in the early game, crashed into the Marine Lab.

The only new artwork in this episode is the red form of the Jellyfish frostbitten, as seen below.

These frostbitten are found leeching from electrical wires and machinery, their polyps containing a threateningly high level of stored energy. To quote the party; they suck.

Next up we have Night 10's artwork. The good doctor has come to negotiate, and the party engages in a tense but very revealing conversation. To ensure things go well, a new frostbitten appears alongside the good doctor.

This being, warped in coral and holding a bright white flag, appeared by the Doctor's side in the encounter. Nothing else is currently known about it.

Despite the Doctor's cease-fire, Elessar and Val found their way into the Garden of Chains, the Good Doctor's base of operations. Within the large chamber, they found two new sights... a massive frostbitten and the real form of the doctor himself.

Hundreds of rejected forms of the Good Doctor, either broken beyond repair or currently regenerating, all forced into infinite life by the Millenium AI. The Good Doctor has gathered them here in one place in the Garden of Chains.

Next up, day 11, the party goes to the 25th hour to get Bolt's opinion on the situation.

Since Bolt was never supposed to be a visual aspect of the campaign, I never finished his design. This update visually defines him a place in the world and fully realizes how his personality ties into his design. I'm quite happy with it.

And after another Duncan rolls a 1 moment, we rush right into the Mad as Hell ACT 3 encounter. Here are all of the artworks that showed up at the end of episode 19 and during episode 20.

Mad as Hell ACT 3, earth and lightning, the miasma of static electricity, and the one controlling the giant class to act out as a rogue frostbitten.

The hands were confirmed to be part of the giant, now known to be [In the Year 2525].

In its head stands a projector equipped with tragedy from all over time. One of those tragedies stays close.

Professor Black Ice, or "the virus", is a self replicating computer virus from the future. For some reason, it is attempting to look just like Milli...

And finally the party encountered the mental forms of the Good Doctor within the 25th hour. What appears to be Camilia's original personality, and a much more serious and humorless Bliss.

I run a JJBA ttrpg campaign. It has a great story so far and my players are great.

I have run into an issue where I have nobody to talk about my campaign to because all the people who would be interested are the people participating, so I’m just gonna rave ab the most recent shit rq

They met an NPC not too long ago who is clearly very aloof, and has his own agenda. he has been sorta helping the party for a while but the party doesn’t trust him and for good reason.

He has an information gathering stand, which is very thorough but often comes back saying “couldn’t find anything.” or “dead end, sorry gang.”

I have not been hiding that hes lying though. I tease my players with vague descriptions of what he sees or finds, so they know hes lying when he comes back empty handed, but it means nothing to the players, and the characters never saw any of it. this only works cuz my players are awesome 💀

After a while of this he finally started upping his game, as its revealed he’s actually been gathering information to power up his stand tenfold, and catches him in the middle of his first planned power up. He restrains them, and demonstrates his new power to erase memories or information by wiping the memory of the player seeing him get stronger, which everyone was starstruck for.

The players know of 2 characters who could be the true BBEGs of the campaign, but actually? its info boy. hes playing them all, and soon hes going to reveal himself, his motives, and the reason he hates the party and I’m excited.

Welcome to Sequence Break!

You're probably wondering erm....what the fuck did I just wander into? That's a very good answer my friend!

We post regularly on Youtube, the hellsite, where we put out D&D, World of Darkness, and our primary hyperfixation a JoJo's TTRPG by Christian/AfroMenace.

Yo here's a little elevator pitch of all our current JoJo series for you! Be wary of minor spoilers of episode 1 of each series.

JoJo's:

Starting with Star Road Now, we approach a city called Electros City in Japan during the year 2130. An average city from afar but underneath is something brewing, like all good ttrpg games. Our party is made of: A rich realtor Jojo named Jona, an Irish ex gang member called Begolji, a parkour enthusiast named Renegade, an occult vampire? named Sebastian, and an assassin named Mercury. All of them join together to figure out what happened to Jonah's mother years ago, leading them into something bigger than they imagined.

Then we have The Quiet Decay , a prequel to Star Road Now, focusing in Electros 42 years prior to the first game. The Speedwagon foundation is gathering a team to look into some seemingly targeted attacks on their warehouses and other locations. All the attackers have one thing in common which are these white eyes and black tears. The foundation is sure it's a stand user using these people to take revenge of some kind so they bring on Hidari Hitoshi, a bank teller, Eizen Veil, a horror author, Sen Sakahara, one of the foundation's employees, and Guiseppe Gibson or Gigi to his friends, a young German scientist with a brain almost too big for himself. Together they look into the black tears and hope to find the source before some real damage can be done.

Severed Strings, the next and a currently ongoing game, set in 2140 ten years after the events of Star Road Now. The Joestar Estate has hired a group of stand users to babysit the current Joestar heir, Jodie Joestar. As Jonah's daughter she's expected to at some point develop a stand and with the recent deaths surrounding the family, it seems someone was out to get them and may be after Jodie as well.

Our most recent game that is also ongoing is Learned Mortality. When a signal is received from a research station in Antarctica a party is sent out to investigate and stop whatever stand or non stand related issues they find down there. With the impending anxiety of the antarctic night they have to move quickly and make sure that everyone is safe while also dealing with horrific monsters from the ice.
