It's bad enough that Vincent Lambe didn't even bother asking for Denise Fergus or the family's permission before making a short film about the torture and death of her 2 year old son James Bulger, plus humanising his two killers, but The Acadamy refuses her pleas to have Detainment removed from the nomination list. Like congrats on profiting off of a grieving mother and her dead child you pieces of shit.

nothing fucks me off more than people who act like thompson and venables were monsters. they were children. they were victims too. it’s one of the things that makes me the most sick about the true crime community and just about the general public- the lack of empathy and rational thinking for children who commit crimes.

One of the ten-year-old boys who murdered James Bulger in 1993 has been jailed for indecent images of children.

I’m so mad that Jon Venables who murdered a toddler when he was ten years old and has since adulthood been twice arrested for possessing child pornography is still protected by an insane law that gives him absolute anonymity. And if somebody releases his identity they are subject to persecution. 

It is terrible. And that he is given a protection despite numerous convictions that James Bulgur was never granted is despicable. I’m so mad about this. His rights to anonymity should have been waived as soon as he was convicted of a crime as an adult.

Some people literally blame the mother for her son getting tortured and murdered. "If she had been paying more attention..." Ugh! Also, anyone who defends those boys can kindly sod off.

it's so disgusting because not only is it super easy to lose sight of your child if you look away for even a second, especially in a shopping centre like the strand which was very busy in my childhood — thompson & venables specifically lured him away.

they didn't just come across james as he'd wandered off, they lured james away from denise & had tried to do so with another child earlier in the day but that child's mother intervened.

it was not denise's fault. she has to live with the torturous guilt that will already make her blame herself without people using that to further beat her over the head. there is no defense for those boys like you said & it's disgusting to see people do so because of their own agendas.
