🫂🫐🧳👖 for Jonah, for the ask game! 👀

🫂 (hug) - How does your OC feel about physical touch? Do they like hugs--giving or recieving?

Jonah is absolutely a physical touch guy!! He's definitely a hugger, too!!

🫐 (blueberries) - Is your OC a simple or complex person? When your OC meets someone new, does their true personality come through, or do they put on a mask of some kind?

He feels like a bit of both, honestly? I wouldn't call Jonah OVERLY complex, but he's definitely hiding layers of insecurities, about whether he's good enough, and his fears about people leaving, thanks to his no good parents. He's pretty good about showing his true self, though, he doesn't have the BEST poker face

🧳(suitcase) - What's one item your OC always carries with them?

He probably has something from his first date with Keturah, his girlfriend, that he carries with him always, but I'm not sure what it is, specifically

👖 (jeans) - comfort clothes? Or favorite outfits?

Jonah probably has a variety of cool jackets and band t-shirts he likes, but his favorite is DEFINITELY his Love Händel shirt!

🔒= What is a secret they've sworn never to tell?

Jonah: The last time he saw his father, he told Jonah that he'd been married to another woman, and that Jonah had siblings. Jonah had always figured that his father had someone else, that that was why he'd seen him so little during his childhood, but didn't really expect that he had siblings, for some reason. But he promised himself he'd never go looking for them, thinking that they'd never want to know the result of their father's fling with a mermaid. No matter how much he might want more family, it's impossible

Othniel: He'll never tell his sisters just how hard it was for him when their dad walked out on them. He figures, that's his burden, not theirs, he doesn't need to make their life harder through that, or any other.... secrets his dad may have told him and his mom years later. Like, hypothetically, that he had a brother he'd never met. For instance

Katherine: Honestly, she's a TERRIBLE secret keeper. She loves telling people about things

🌧 = Is there a pain they refuse to heal from?

Jonah: Jonah's mom was a mermaid, and due to the fact that he can't really transform into a mer himself, she wasn't around as much, and his father... well, he was around even less. That's not necessarily something he refuses to heal from, in fact, he definitely does his best to work against the lies that experience has put into his mind, but he doesn't always succeed terribly well

Answered this one for Othniel here!

Katherine: Her relationship with her parents is a bit complicated. They don't exactly love what she chose to do with her life, from spending time as a hacker to make money to working as a portal keeper/in law enforcement/anywhere near the magical world, they think it's unsafe and unwise. Katherine STRONGLY disagrees, so they haven't talked in a while

📜 = Is there a story they love sharing with others?

Jonah: He's one of those people who LOVES telling stories about the wild stuff he and his coworkers and friends get up to, so he usually recaps missions he goes on to Atticus and Katherine, or at least the parts they didn't hear over comms or see via hacked security cameras

Othniel: He's not really a big sharer, honestly. He does love to vaguely allude to the time he and Getty tried to beat the cuss out of each other on their first mission together, though

🥦💚🤢 for Othniel, Jonah, and Byrony!

🥦 (broccoli) - Does your OC consider themself to eat healthy? What does that look like for them? Are there certain "healthy" foods they hate, or ones they love?

Othniel eats relatively healthy about 70% of the time, unless he's in the middle of an intense case, in which case he's too focused to concern himself with such things as "nutrients" and "vegetables"

Jonah is a weird mixture of extremely healthy (probably eats seaweed, loves a good salad, likes to avoid certain oils and such) and very... not (considers popcorn a full meal, has drunk five juice boxes and called it hydration)

As a cook, Bryony takes eating healthy more seriously, and definitely puts some effort in! Particularly into making foods that are good for you but actually taste good

💚 (green heart) - What makes your OC feel most calm? Are there certain routines, foods, music, objects, or places that help your OC relax?

For Othniel, it's probably the space between cases where he knows he can rest without worrying he's failing someone. Or, at least, be more certain of it. Additionally, while sparring with his best friend, Getty, and he probably likes instrumental movie soundtracks, too

Jonah feels most calm near the ocean, or on something extremely tall, and hanging out with his friends!

Bryony likes a clean kitchen, and baked goods in the oven, or on their way there, to calm her!

🤢 (sick face) - Is there anything that makes your OC sick or queasy? Does your OC get sick easily? Do they hate being sick, or are they neutral/used to it?

Othniel has a pretty strong stomach at this point in his life, though the very thought of some events and people in his life would do it. He HATES it

Jonah is pretty much immune to motion sickness, so not much in particular makes him sick. Maybe a food he hates, like celery or something?

Bryony isn't the biggest fan of heights, so that might make her a bit queasy
