Location: Charlotte, NC - Hospital Time & Date: March 13th, wee morning hours Status: closed for @jonasrobertson
Despite being on-duty, Grayson had fled the third floor down to the ER when he’d gotten a call about his boyfriend. He was part of the injured from the wreck, on the worse end of the influx of patients from what Grayson could gather. He knew he was needed out there on the floor, especially with the dozen or so patients needing medical attention, but he’d been glued to Markus’ side for the past hour. It was only then he realized, a quick glance at the clock confirming it, how long Gray had been absent from his job.
Regretfully, he tore himself away from Markus, still unconscious due to the blood loss he’d sustained, and began to head to where he last had known Dr. Robertson was working. As he hurried through the halls, skirting other nurses and avoiding the chaos where he could, Grayson tried to practice what he would say when he asked for a day off. The words felt wrong, and when he finally caught sight of Jonas and got his attention, the tears welling up ruined any script he’d mentally drafted.
“I-I’m so sorry,” Gray breathed out, hand clenching in the pocket of his scrubs. “I know you need me, I know this is bad, but- it’s Markus,” Grayson’s words tumbled out, his voice cracking when he said his boyfriend’s name. “I just need a day. To be with him. He was in the pile-up. He’s here, down there.” He really didn’t want to be fired.
