(Kinda long again but hehe)
This little ranting thing that I do is about General Joodoh.
Something or someone I have been curious about is General Joodoh. Obviously I know the basic things, such as his wonderful personality, status in the kingdom, and his feelings towards Hak.
Chapter 178 confirmed that Joodoh feels jealous towards Hak. Hak took away what was supposed to be his job and duty to protect Princess Yona as her bodyguard.
But (I don’t know if it’s just me, I know how much I like to imagine and dream) I feel like Joodoh loved or loves Yona, or at least admired her. Of course, he picked Soowon over Yona but still...
Now when I say love, I mean love as a brother-sister or whatever type of love but a smaller part of me (the one that likes to imagine) thinks maybe it’s ya know... love *wink wink*. I could be wrong with this buuut here’s why I think this:
This is the page that I believe confirms Joodoh is jealous towards Hak. But you see how Kye-Sook mentions how there were rumors that King Il was going to make Hak Yonas husband. Whhhhy would he mention that? Why? To make Joodoh even angerier at Hak because that was a further step up from Joodoh? Is Joodoh’s angered face in the last panel directed at just his hatred for Hak or the fact that Hak was going to apparently be Yona’s husband?
These next two pages show me that Joodoh definitely did care for Yona, no doubt about that. And when he asks her to not overwork herself that could be taken in a brotherly manner or ya know *wink wink* (again I like to dream, Joodoh is a favorite for me for some reason even though he hates Hak). I just feel like there is more about Joodoh and his feelings towards Yona.
Lastly, this panel. If you look closely at Joodohs eyes, it lowkey kinda looks he has tears in his eyes. Now of course that could just be the way it was drawn or the reflection or something. This panel was right after his memory of Princess Yona, Soowon, and him. And he is clearly not happy.
If Joodoh does love Yona, maybe that’s why he never found or chose a wife... (or it could just be because of his wonderful personality)
