The article is on Kotaku Australia! They didn’t call anybody sociopaths, they did call us homewreckers tho lol

Oh, no, they did call folks who wanted good endings for every daddy sociopaths--they just did it in a way that made it look like they didn’t.
They also didn’t outright call anyone a homewrecker, but--
--it’s implied.
They wanted to make a bunch of MLM feel guilty for falling in love with a guy in a failing marriage and wanting to be with him, and that's just so many levels of ugly that I can’t even count them all. They really didn’t take any of the complexities of religious homophobia, coercive heteronormativity, internalized homophobia, and living as a high-profile gay man with the expectations of a homophobic society on your shoulders into account.
It’s sad, because Joseph could have been really positive representation for religious MLM (even with the cult ending, because, afaik, that was just a spoof), and both Joseph and Mary could have been a positive portrayal of two people who recognize their marriage is failing and mutually choose to end it on good terms for the betterment of both their lives.
Instead, we get this mess. :\
It just feels like this was more of a weird social experiment to them than a game, and I honestly feel betrayed, because I’ve been so loud in my support for the devs since day one. For them to say things like this about their own paying customers, many of whom are MLM desperate for any bit of positive representation, is just such a huge let-down.
