Whew!
And there’s quite a lot!
A scythe?!
Invested
Though my shelf of faves would call me out as a liar, when it comes to books, I tend to prefer non-fiction. Middlesex, Atonement and Little Children aside, even when I make an effort to select works of fiction (and why wouldn't I want an escape to warmer climes filled with romance?!), when it comes right down to it, business books, biographies and Bill Bryson tend to win.
On TV, I like documentaries, sure, but the tube is where my love of fiction exists. It's also where I get invested. Sometimes really invested. It might come as a surprise that romance doesn't make me gag. Not really. Sure, some things seem too much. But as someone who never went to a single dance in high school, not even the senior prom, I'm somehow un-jaded/bitter enough to think that one day perhaps I'll be the frilly-frock wearing recipient of a thoughtful token or grand gesture. Until then, when I start regularly watching a television show, I expect certain people to get together. Because on TV it's easy, right?! Simply write people together who so obviously belong together.
So why is The West Wing torturing me?! I'm technically funemployed so I've had a bit of time to pick up where I left off in my Netflix cram of this show, which was all the award-winning rage when it was on the air. The actors and writing are superb and with Rob Lowe, it's not like I can easily tear myself away even when he's barely around in season 4, which is where I am right now. Instead, I focus my attention on Josh and Donna because COME ON ALREADY. Thanks to a Google search of "Josh, Donna, West Wing" I know the inevitable happens, but I won't further spoil myself by finding out when. It's almost enough to calm me just knowing he finally kisses her for f's sake. Or does she kiss him?! Guess I have to be patient to find out...
Josh? Jealous?! Never :)
Leo: Hey, you staying in town?
Josh: Nah, she's meeting jack reese at the Washington Inn. How does he get a room at the washington... I can't get a room at the Washington Inn.
Leo: (looks at Josh with his *WTF are you talking about* look)
Josh: Me? i don't know yet, what do you need?
As always, while watching TWW, I'm torn.
Between my desire for Josh and donna to rip their clothes off each other and get it on right there on his desk, and my desire to marry Josh and have special J babies with him.
Though in the end, i think i'm rooting for Josh and donna more.
I'm pretty sure.
Yeah.
I LOVE it when Amy gardner asks Josh
"Are you dating your assistant?" (Season 3, The Women of Qumar)
I feel like that's Sorkin telling us "Yeah, it's not just you guys, The entire White House staff thinks these too should be together, so much so, infact, that there are rumors all over fake DC that they ARE together."
Also, I love that when Amy says "She's cute", he doesnt denay it... only says "She's my assistant." Bitch Please. he knows she's cute.
Also he's not NEARLY as shocked as he should be when she asks if he's dating Donna. cause he knows. He knows it's not that far fetched :)
It's all about the little things. and my insanity, i guess.
