wait god im just imagining josh watching roman flirt with this guy, knowing he's married and then maybe seeing roman getting a little too drunk and then wandering off with this guy and maybe he sees them sneak into a closet or something. Then the next morning (i'm assuming this is one of those marriages at a place where all the guests are staying at a hotel), josh tries to check on roman and roman is just not having it because why do you care josh? we're just friends, right? why are you sticking your nose in my business? God, actually i would be so here for like a little wedding weekend fic where josh has to deal with roman basically spending the weekend with this guy and then making plans for LA right in front of him (which, ok, josh understands that he is the one getting married but he also thinks roman is rubbing this in lmao). OH WAIT what about final goodbye at josh's bachelors party. Or maybe josh turns up at roman's door after his bachelor party just honest to god upset that he's marrying someone under these circumstances - and when roman tries to bring it up after that night, josh just says he was getting cold feet but he's actually happy with it (roman is not convinced). And that's the night that josh takes an interest in the painting on roman's wall and roman gives it to him as a wedding gift. <3333
So much amazing stuff here 😭 Josh just so full of feelings about the Kate thing he could die and unloading on Roman for once, then Josh totally denying it the next day completely ready to marry. A bachelor party where Roman spends half the time flirting with someone Josh barely knows but already hates. Josh having no power whatsoever and doing everything he can to pretend like he does until he absolutely can't anymore, and the only person he trusts on this whole wedding weekend is Roman.

Yes and no - Roman is crushing hard and lovesick on an LA man, but hasn't sealed the deal.
between josh and stewy being bros (wish i could find a gif of that airport hug) and stewy being ken's bff, is stewy one of the people josh reaches out to to try and get info when rome's being held hostage in the joshroman? you know stewy would recognize josh's worry for what it was but i'm curious what his reaction is. shock? amusement? kind of impressed with rome for pulling josh?
I was definitely thinking Stewy was the link for Josh to find out why Roman's gone radio silent. Stewy is shocked, I think, because he knows both Roman and Josh but had no clue they were remotely close enough to merit this kind of freakout, then it clicks and Stewy is just like oh honey and starts pouring him drinks. He'll make a call or two, then you can tell Mama Stewy all about it, Josh.
yo, shout-out to the "how rome would react to the blackmail" debate in the one of the asks! i started out convinced he'd give in asap to stop it getting to logan, but i'm wavering. i like the idea of chris being the architect of his own destruction by inadvertently triggering an "i'm unlovable, so why bother" spiral in rome. and i like that it opens the door for rome to reach out to josh to ask for help in dealing with chris, and then josh can help stop the spiral (with sex).
Just tossing this out here for any further discussion. What I will add is that Chris is definitely playing with fire and has vastly underestimated the situation he has gotten himself into, purely because he's dick enough to think Roman is too weak to fight back. He really sucks, man.

According to my plans, it looks like we're 10 chapters deep into 25 total for Joshroman even prior to the hostage situation and the two of them getting together. (The hostage situation is so far off that I haven't planned much further past it.) I thought about chopping out a storyline for both of them in order to shorten everything, but I have to trust that at least a handful of you will follow me where I intend to go. My ultimate goal is to finish this before the premiere of season 4. Who knows when that is.

For sure, Josh is a suspiciously flawless husband for a week or so while he's in denial of Roman's very existence, and Roman acts out recklessly in LA, at least partially hoping Josh will reach out to him or show up. Finally Josh snaps in the middle of the night one night and sends a totally mundane text to reopen the conversation. One exchange and it's like none of it ever happened. (Josh goes back to being a mediocre husband but good dad.)
