wait, you mean there is another country that has the word 'gezellig'? it's a Dutch word for a situation or a person or whatever that feels comfortable, cozy, nice, warm, friendly... kind of hard to explain but it doesn't exist in english.
From what I gather from Google, the two are very similar, yes!

Ah, the canal pride… I’m always out of the country when that happens, but I really want to be there at least once in my life…
it's pretty damn brilliant! definitely worth going, whether you're on a boat or standing at the edges of the canal :D
