Joss Whedon No Longer Directing the Batgirl Movie
It’s been revealed today that Joss Whedon is no longer writing and directing the solo Batgirl movie for Warner Bros. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Whedon admitted he had no story to tell with Batgirl and it took him months to realize that fact. (more…)

Ugh Okay I was gonna go to bed but then I saw a post and it pissed me the fuck off.
Why the hell are people suddenly hating on Joss? Like fuck off. He is a writer-- A wonderful one at that. So he made a line that you don’t like in the Avengers-- You have no fucking idea what is happening at that point in time because these are TRAILERS. Do you know what was leading up to that point? Then no-- you don’t get to complain.
If after you see the movie and you still don’t like how he treated a character great. You have that option. But until then, keep your mouth shut and get over it.
Another thing people are hating on is that he is a white male with emotional problems. GUESS WHAT HE IS A HUMAN FUCKING BEING. WHITE MEN ARE ALLOWED TO DO THAT. STOP STEREOTYPING A MAN YOU HAVE NEVER FUCKING MET. Just because you think the ‘white men’ in the world get everything handed to them doesn’t mean shit.
Do you know what I like about Joss-- He directed the first movie-- was it perfect, not at all. Did it have it’s flaws, of course. Was it still a brilliant movie-- hell yes it was. He managed to keep all those character relevant in their own way. He is GREAT at putting large casts together and making them fit. He has shown that in Buffy, Firefly, and Avengers.
Would you rather have someone who knows nothing of the source material writing this movie? Or how about we just hire M. Night Shyamalan to do it since he did oh so great at making movies for Last Airbender(this is sarcasm btw). Joss is doing what he can with what he was given, and I will give him the credit for that. Until I have seen the movie I will not say that he treated the characters horribly nor will I say that it is a good movie. Only after I have seen it can I make that decision.
Will it change my opinion of Joss? Nope. I might be disappointed if it isn’t as wonderful as I want it to be-- but he still is good at what he does and listens to what people want.
We have to astonish them
