Saw something on Twitter so you know I had to…
So I just saw a meme that got me thinking, what If Caesar waited for Joseph in the afterlife?
There's no such thing as Heaven or Hell, just a limbo where Caesar has been stuck watching over Jojo since the day he passed away.
At the beginning he just wanted to make sure he took the antidote, knowing Joseph was too full of himself to let the help get to him sometimes. Then he had to extend it to watch the fight with Wham, he was sure that If he still had a heart it would've exploded watching without being able to interfere.
He heard Joseph scream for him, and he wished he could've gone to him, truly fighting by his side.
He realized that he could help him, just a little bit, sending him some extra bit of luck from time to time.
It took a lot of strength from his spirit, to do so. Sometimes he felt like he was fading away, then Jojo would call him in his sleep, a reminder that he was still alive in his memories.
He would show up in his dreams, unable to speak the truth, to tell him that he was waiting for him. Joseph kept on growing up, getting old. Caesar remained the same.
He was introduced to all the new things and people in Joseph's life throughout his life, meeting Suzie Q as his wife, then their daughter Holly and his grandson Jotaro.
He was really happy for Joseph, at least he tried to be.
He saw him once, face to face, when Jotaro defeated Dio. He was old, still fit, but much more tame than the young brat he had met. Their time was short, but Caesar felt like he had met his soulmate again.
Joseph told him that he had always known he was watching over him, half joking with tears falling down his face. Caesar just hugged him, tight. He faded on his arms, after Jotaro performed a miracle just for him.
That lucky bastard, somehow he got people in all realms waiting for him.
A few years later, Caesar met another young brat, the live image of Joseph in his youth. He wanted to beat him up and laugh until his soul expired, of course he cheated on Suzie Q, he never played fair.
Josuke was more mellow than Joseph, though. Caesar wished he could've met him in person, not through Joseph. He knew that wouldn't have been possible, not even in an alternative universe. First of all, if he was still alive, Joseph wouldn't have cheated on Suzie Q, or him for that matter.
He lived a long life, through Joseph's blurry vision and foggy memory, and he was glad he did, because that meant Joseph got to break his family's curse.
Joseph died of old age, long past 80 years old, very wrinkly, but full of stories to tell.
Caesar waited for him on the other side, meeting him with open arms, ready to resume where they had left things more than 60 years ago. Joseph apologized, crying in his arms. Caesar just enjoyed having him again.
With Joseph by his side, having lived a long and accomplished life, Caesar found himself at a loss of what to do, ready to fade away, this time no one would remember him. But Joseph showed him another way.
Joseph took him to meet both of his grandfathers and fathers. They sat side by side in a long table, sharing stories of their youths.
Caesar found himself resting peacefully for the first time, nothing to worry about, no one to look after.
Joseph held his hand as he faded in the wind, the realization that there was nothing else to wait for.
